1. When you make cake or cupcakes, do you make it from scratch or buy a cake mix? Scratch

2. Best icing and cake combination? chocolate cake with vanilla frosting

3. Favourite cookie? chocolate chip, not too crispy and not too mushy.

4. If you only wanted to eat 2 courses would you order an appetizer or dessert? If I wasn't that hungry, I'd go with dessert. If I'm very hungry, I'd want an appetizer.

5. Chocolate or fruity dessert? Fruity.

1. When you make cake or cupcakes, do you make it from scratch or buy a cake mix? Depends. For work treats, I use mixes. For orders, I go from scratch

2. Best icing and cake combination? My chocolate cake with PB cream cheese frosting and PB chocolate ganache is super popular

3. Favourite cookie? I love love love Mrs. Fields' sugar cookie with M&Ms.

4. If you only wanted to eat 2 courses would you order an appetizer or dessert? Totally depends. If there's tiramisu or cheesecake, I'd do dessert.

5. Chocolate or fruity dessert? Neither. I don't like fruit desserts and I really dislike chocolate. I skip dessert if those are my only options.

1 - It depends. Coconut cake I make from scratch. Several cakes I use mixes as the dry goods base but have my own recipe that differs from what's printed on the box. But sometimes I just make a plain 'ole box mix per the directions, too. They're all tasty.

2 - That depends on my mood. I like cream cheese icing on almost anything. If I'm feeling nostalgic, strawberry cake with white icing - it's what I wanted for every birthday cake in elementary school, pretty much.

3 - white chocolate macadamia nut OR oatmeal rasin

4 - appetizer, usually. Sometimes I'd prefer to have app & dessert and skip the entree, though.

5 - fruity all the way.

I make them from scratch or use the WASC recipe that's half and half.

Chocolate & french vanilla; Kahlua & chocolate; caramel & dulce de leche...

Dessert! (At a wedding I'd do an app, main course, and cake though)

1. When you make cake or cupcakes, do you make it from scratch or buy a cake mix? I am usually too impatient to make either from scratch. Don't tell my mom or grandma that though!

I actually have a funny, random story about homemade versus not. When I was 9 or 10 I was at a friends house making a (boxed) cake and she realized they didn't have any frosting. We go to my house (I lived with my grandparents at the time) and ask my grandma if we has any frosting. That's when I found out how to make frosting with powdered sugar and milk. That's also when I realized my grandma does everything from scratch.

2. Best icing and cake combination? Buttercream's (a local company) marble cake with almond praline butter cream frosting. Not too sweet and very light.

3. Favourite cookie? Chocolate Chip, which I only do with my grandma's from scratch recipe.

4. If you only wanted to eat 2 courses would you order an appetizer or dessert? Appetizer. My sweet tooth has disappeared lately.
