Im just overly excited since I booked there last week. Its ALL i can think about. Im sure my fiance thinks Im a freak

I wanted to see what everyone else is doing....
1. Which space did you book? and how many people do you expect?
2. Are you staying at the platinum hotel or somewhere else?
3. What food did you choose?
4. Are you upgrading chairs? lighting?
5. what are you doing for flowers and decorations? anyone have costs on adding on?
6. What are you doing for your rehearsal dinner/event?
I'd love to hear others opinions. This board has been soooo helpful in my planning
Re: Calling ALL Platinum hotel brides!!
I will say, that for the price, you sure get a lot for your money at the Platinum. For $7,300 we had the ceremony, the Misora room, a DJ for 5 hours, a photog for 4 hours, flowers for the wedding party plus 8 centerpieces and other arrangements, the food that included 2 apps, 2 cold choices, 2 starches, 2 entrees and 2 desserts, plus a full open bar for 4 hrs. You really can't beat that. And it's picturesque and all in one location. LOTS OF ADVANTAGES to this place.
I just don't have $7,300 to blow on one big party, don't like 40 people well enough to spend so much on a party for them and freaked out about a traditional dancing reception in my honor. I'm weird like that. Don't like a lot of attention.
I totally understand your excitement, though! Congratulations!!!

1. Misora.. Expecting 50-60
2. Staying at the Platinum in a Princess Suite!
3. Stations menu and hors d'oeuvres
4. Not upgrading chairs, and we have ordered some up lighting through all night long.
5. Went with all inclusive (partly modified) so all of the flowers are through Roxi. Bouquets and boutonnières are upgraded to calla lilies, and we also ordered some vases with floating flowers for the aisle, an aisle runner and a wooden arch for the ceremony. The wooden arch from Roxi floral is gorgeous!!
2. Staying at The Flamingo, booked a Go Mini suite
3. Stations (Cheese, Grilled Veggies, Anitpasti, Sliders), Apps (Bacon wrapped scallops, tomato crostinis, Ahi Poke & Grilled Cheese) Doing the desserts as well and having cupcakes from Retro Bakery (Pumpkin, Lemonade, Maple Bacon and Peanutbutter chocolate)
4. Upgrading the chairs to chivari, undecided on the uplighting
5. We are doing roses with dahlias for our flowers, and we're getting the wooden arch ($300) with the draping ($30) and 2 small corner floral arrangements ($65 each) Not sure what i'm going to do inside for extra decoractions yet - would like to keep it it a minimum, doing ivory linens.
6. We're having the 4 course family meal at Firefly with pitchers of mojitos!
2. We stayed at the Platinum before the wedding, and then moved to the Venetian after the wedding. If I had to do it again, I would have stayed at the Platinum the whole time. The rooms were so big, and the room service was (relatively speaking) inexpensive.
3. Stations and apps.
4. We didn't plan to upgrade the chairs, but ended up getting a free upgrade from the Platinum (I suspect the other wedding downstairs ran out of chairs).
5. We DIYed our decorations (which was kind of a pain in the butt to do in the hotel room...it would have been less stressful if I just hired a florist).
6. We had a welcome reception in suite at THEHotel catered by Magiannos.
Our grand total due to the Platinum (F&B, tax, service fee) was $6K. Hope that helps! I really enjoyed my experience with the Platinum.
