[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Game of Thrones? ***spoilers*** : It had better be only 7 books.  I don't think he's focused enough on the series anymore to write that many additional books.  Also, if he goes to ten books how many characters would really remain??  Not many.

when he first started it was supposed to be a triology and some of the first editions of Game of Thrones indicate that. But I think/hope he knows what he's doing and has a decent outline at this point!

Me too.  I think he can tie up the plot lines in the next few books without extending it beyond seven.  Though we could be wrong.

I saw on the amazon page where Dancing with Dragons was announced and supposed to be released in Sept 2008.  That's why I'm not going to celebrate till it is actually downloaded on my kindle for real and I check that the entire book is present.  Have you read any of his other books?
  • Celles.... I do believe it was Tide who made the jumping the shark comment.  I still like the books but this last plot line made me angry as some of the character's personalities totally shifted and just didn't feel right.  It almost felt like someone else wrote the characters and just followed her sketch of a plot.

Come play on goodreads.  I seriously find so many new autbors and series because of being friends with people and seeing what they have read and are reading.

No! I know he has the Hedge Knight/short book thing going on, too, but I haven't read any. I'm considering some other fantasy series, but I've heard Wheel of Time started off strong then got really lame.

Basically, I was never much into fantasy. I read LotR and Harry Potter, but I figured other fantasy was poorly written - like romance novels for geeks, or something. Then H got me turned onto GoT about 3 years ago, so I'm branching out. :-)

<div>It does. From book like, 5-10 it's just kinda like yeah, okay, we get it, can you move the storyline along a bit? I think Brandon Sanderson's done an awesome job of the last ones though, and I'd recommend his Mistborn series.</div>

I've always liked fantasy but I go in waves of what I'm readying.  I do like romance novels, and then I'll switch to medieval fantasy, then to urban fantasy, thrillers.  I'm really into psycho, forensic murder mysteries but I'm a wuss and if I read a lot of them in a row I scare the crap out of myself and then have to switch to something else.
  • Any another good series starts with the book the Poison Throne.  For some reason Good reads is acting up for me.

  • I clicked off that update feed thing and it stayed off for me.  And someone is now added as a friend as well.

I just watched episode 7 on HBO Go, and yeah, the gratuitous sex scene was .... uhm .... yeah. It reminded me of the scene in American Psycho where Christian Bale hires the prostitutes and makes them do stuff together in the bathtub.

How did you miss that? Lol that was the sex scene I referenced earlier.  It was pretty um detailed and the entire time the woman was getting off.
