  • Agree with everyone else, Nola.  Even if the party were at your house, I would show up with a bottle of wine or two and not expect you to foot the booze bill.

You are A-Okay and more, Nola.
  • I believe this is worse than the potluck weddings.

Nola - that sounds great. I can't wait to see pics.  Do you have your Attire: HOT yet?
  • NOLA, I think your bday party is fine and doing drink tickets is fine too.

My birthday we've always provided all the food and usually about 1 bottle wine/2 people.  once that's gone, you're on your own.  However, since we provide all the food, most of the guests show up with liquor.

And this year, very cool presents.  That was a sweet surprise, I really don't expect presents at my age.
  • Cali, i don't even want to start looking.:(

[QUOTE]I would write a note that I will be brown bagging it.  And then I will ask the bride before the ceremony if there is a freezer handy for my Lean Cuisine meal.  I don't want it getting soggy before microwave time.

Do they have a wedding website?
  • Random other bday party question, just curious what people do.  In my group of friends if someone is celebrating a bday and organizes a dinner for their b-day their meal usually gets split between all the attendees(actually 1/2 the time is someone else, like the SO or a close friend doing the actual organizing) ....although lately now that we are getting older/many of us have better jobs, there have been times that the bday person has paid for everyone's meal.  Its an interesting shift.

<div>you need to stick around for all of mrsconn's issues - if she hadn't been banned for posting about her relationship with her gay twin brother. </div>
  • LaLa, I think it depends on the crowd. I have friends that always offer to pick up the tab, and I have friends that you already know to bring small bills with you because that puppy is going to get split to the penny.
