When my mother was my age...

She had been divorced already and then married my dad.  I think she was pregnant with my older sister, worked for Volkswagon and was living in Maryland!

She had a two year old (my oldest brother) and was putting herself through school and working and living off of welfare as best as she could until she went back to nursing school, got her masters, and met and married my dad and then had two more babies (me and my brother!) :)

So proud of my momma she's my hero!

I think its interesting that so many of your mothers had already met your father and a lot had even had children! My mom didn't meet my dad until after she finished graduate school and decided to move out to Colorado with her best friend because they figured they could be unemployeed anywhere. My parents dated for I think 4 years and didn't have me until my mom was 30.

Its funny though they are really encouraging/accepting of my relationship with BF and can't wait for us to get married even though we are so young. And my dad told me that 25 was a good age to start having kids (I think they just want grandkids lol) but BF and I want to wait until we are 27 to have kids (which I know is still young)

I love that my life is so different than my mom's was but she is still so encouraging of any path I choose to take

She had already been married for more than a year (she married on her 25th Birthday)
She already had me (she gave birth to me just one month shy of her 26th Birthday)
She returned to Brazil with me and my dad after spending 1.5 years in America (I was 5 months old when we got back)

I'm another one whose mother wasn't even close to having her.  She still had to meet, date, and break off an engagement with her ex-fiancé and break up with a man she dated for two years before she even met my father.  She got married at 29 and had me at 31.

On the other hand, my boyfriend's father was already engaged to his mother when he was BF's age.  They were in the middle of wedding planning after having dated for two months.  They wouldn't have BF, their "unplanned blessing" for another five years though, since BF's parents were still in school when they got married.
