In Response to Re: Seriously guys : Now I'm even more excited. I totally forgot there was a hat involved - yes, I've been a bio stalker before lol. Having anything obnoxiously LSU themed?? FI didn't know until the day of the wedding that I had a Gator garter and that the Gator fight song was going to be played during the garter gathering lol. He wasn't thrilled until he heard the Texas fight song right after lol.

My garter will be LSU :) And LSU is playing Ole Miss that night and kickoff is the same time the ceremony starts. I'm going to ask the band to make score announcemnts during the reception and there will be a TV by the bar, thank God. It's bad enough I'm having the wedding the first day of rifle season for deer, and also on an SEC vs. SEC game. There'd be a riot if there were no TV with the game on.
Thanks Mandy! I'm excited too. 13 months was way too long an engagement, honestly.
In Response to Re: Seriously guys : Yeah I didn't get there in time. Every bride in Baton Rouge getting married during football season had LSU's bye week booked a year in advance. My parents got married on the day of the LSU vs. Bama game, so I guess now it's family tradition to have a wedding on huge game days.
    Posted by laurenclaire1386
Haha, that makes total sense. I didn't even think about the location being a factor! There aren't many hardcore Gator fans in Mississippi that HAD to have the Gator bye week reserved lol. Good luck!!!

I really think I'd have had a better time of planning if I had less time. I didn't book anything major until 6 months out anyway. Having a year made me think I had tons, of time, and I did, but that just made me put everything off until almost the last minute.

13 months is long...but I had 15...I have an acquaintance who's going to have been engaged for 27 (if I did my math correctly)...it's not like they have to graduate or get on their feet or anything, they're already living together, they just dont want to get married until 2012...they love the whole "mayan calandar ending" thing. They're weird.
  • Boo! I was just getting ready for some afternoon entertainment to read up on MC's suicide thread from yesterday and the entire thread is gone. :(
In Response to Re: Seriously guys : Haha! We scheduled our wedding on a Florida bye week to we didn't have to deal with that. Texas was playing a game that should have been cake (I think it was like North Iowa or something) but they lost. Poor hubs lol. I can't believe you're getting married during the Ole Miss game!! My psycho LSU friend literally wouldn't miss that game for ANYTHING - let alone a wedding lol. She'd probably be pissed if she had to go to a close family members funeral that day. Literally. But, again, she's one of those psycho fans lol. Your wedding is going to be awesome, I'm sure all of your guests will be happy that there will be periodic score announcements lol.

Lol, my FIL went to North Iowa. Even HE would rather follow the Hawkeyes, anyday!

Same here. I also had about 13 months. I think if I didn't have many hobbies or classes I could have banged out a wedding in 3-4 months, really.

  • I hope she GBCK. She's a nutbar. With NO common sense. I'm sorry to say it, but if people like her are getting jobs as teachers it's no wonder kids these days are a bunch of dumbasses.
