Mine is just that I have exactly 7 months left!!  Yay!  I know it still seems like a lot, but I feel like it is just going by so fast!  It wasn't that long ago that I was excited to be at the 12 month mark! :-p

Yay, these are all so great.  Congrats to everyone!

I got nothing.  The remodeling is going very slowly. But the upstairs bathroom is coming along and looks great.  I can't wait for it to be done!

I'm getting married 1 month from today. It finally feels real, and thank goodness planning is almost over. I have not enjoyed it.

This is 50% AW, 50% B&M: I had what was supposed to be my final fitting last night... but it's not quite right, so I have one more fitting in 2 weeks. I love my dress, I hope they get it right this time!
Oh, and I have a couple 5k's coming up in the next few months that I'm looking forward to! My goal is to be able to run a 1/2 marathon by this time next year. Posted by NMac2010
Natalie,
Which races are running? I am doing the Dallas Race for the Cure next month.
I used to be a long distance runner (ended up doing about 20 half marathons and 2 full marathons), so I get really excited when I see people getting into running.
I only do 5Ks these days because my knees can't the distance anymore.. but running is the best natural high, and I love it.
For anyone wanting to try a new restaurant, we went to Medina (in Victory Plaza).

Michelle, I had totally forgotten about Medina.. I went there maybe a year or to go ago, yummy Moroccan food! If you liked Medina and haven't been to Sangria off Knox/Henderson, I highly recommend it. DH and I love that place. It used to be exclusively Spanish tapas but they have incorporated other Mediterranean items into the menu as well. And their sparking sangria is to die for.

I'm doing the Living4Zachary Heart Run in October, it's only the 2nd annual, in Plano. Then I'm doing the Turkey Trot.

Have any advice for someone working up towards doing a half? I could use all the help I can get! DH does triathlons, and is doing his 2nd Ironman in November, so we bike and run together. I hate the swim, so I will never be a triathlete. But I love the biking and running part.

I was going to ask the same question about which runs your doing - I was hoping we might be doing the same ones.  (Alas, I'm doing the Tour des Fleurs this weekend and then the Vineyard Run in Grapevine in October.)  I know the comment above wasn't directed at me, but I'm training for a half right now--a lot of runners on another message board I visit recommend Hal Higdon's novice plan, so I'm modifying that as necessary for my training.  Ask me in December and I'll tell you how well it worked :)

Sweet! Just watch out for the crowds at the Turkey Trot, I do that everyone year and you have to be super patient, because you will most likely be walking the first 5 to 10 min, because of the masses... most the walkers and people with strollers who should like up in the back, like to get in the front and they create a terrible bottle neck issue.

When I first started running, I used coolrunning.com a lot. It has training schedules/plans and message boards and all kinds of good stuff on there. Runnersworld.com is also good. Another suggestion, I have is if you live near a Luke's Locker or a Run On store, sign up for the their training programs, they meet once a week to do group long runs based on your pace and are lead by a coach. They also provide seminars and info sessions, and get you involved in the running community. That's how I trained for my first long distance race which was the Dallas Half marathon in Nov of 2004. It's now called the DRC ( Dallas Running Club ) Half. It's a great first half marathon to do, usually the weather is great, and the organization is great too.
Oh and joining the DRC is also a good idea, they have a lot of free races through out the year, which can help you work towards that half marathon.

My final piece of advice is to listen to your body, if something hurts, REST IT and let it recover before you push yourself to do more, or you might permanently injure yourself.
It's hard to listen to that last bit of advice because once you start increasing your distance, you just want to go go go, but you have to listen to your body and sadly knee, foot , lower back injuries are a part of the running game, so you have to be careful.

Awesome, thanks for the pointers!

I will look into joining a running club, for sure.

Yeah, DH and I did the Turkey Trot last year and it was a cluster. So I know what you mean! But, it was a fun way to start out our Thanksgiving day, and it didn't make me feel so bad about stuffing myself later! :)

Shortgirl--
Good luck with your resume writing.  I know you've been in a difficult place for a couple of years now with a sucky boss.

I need to add more AWs. I was going to post some on Facebook, but then realized I didn't want to deal with the comment drama from the un-included, so...

My shower is Saturday! Followed by Grapefest with a group of girls! FI's mom is from a small town and when I told her we were doing girls night at Grapefest she said, "I've never had a girls night...but I WANT to!!" So cute.

My hair and makeup trials are also this weekend! Excited to see a completely made up me!

Kathy - I like Sangrias too!  DH's apartment before we got married was at Fitzhugh and 75, so we could walk there, and not have to worry about driving home after that yummy sangria!

Leslie - sounds like you have a FUN weekend planned.  Enjoy it!

I forgot, I do have an AW.  I got an early Christmas gift from my boss:  2 2nd row VIP seats to Cirque de Soleil in February and dinner at Loft 610.  I can't wait already.

NMAC - You're trash the dress location is less than 100 yards from my house!  That waterfall is where my FI proposed and where I'll be doing my bridals on Monday.

Such a beautiful backdrop!  I've seen everything from prom to wedding to bikini photos there.

I'm leaving you a PM.

Stephie, I am SOOO jealous.  I am a bit obsessed with Cirque... and am trying to find details for when/where the show is as we speak/type.

For the runners out there - Anyone doing the Tour De Fluer on Saturday?  I signed up for the 20k but have been absolutely horrible about running.  Me and past mod Mariah will be there if you want to join us!

Yeah, me too!  My boss gets me the Tapis Rouge tickets every year they are here--but they haven't been here in quite awhile so I'm excited!

I bought tickets this morning to the Rangers' first playoff game this season!  My FI & I both love baseball - should be fun.

I also picked up his ring last night from the jeweler, we are meeting w/ the hotel tonight for the room block, and booking our videographer this weekend!  I feel so stinkin' productive this week.

Stephie - That's awesome!  Loft 610 is great - I've been once for lunch and once for restaurant week.  I highly recommend anything with shrimp - both times I've been impressed with shrimp dishes.

Balfour - I'm doing the TDF 10k.  Maybe next year I'll do the 20K.  Have you done the TDF before?  Any tips?
