I let my 8th grade class build a fort out of boxes and sheets.  It was pretty cool, and a perfectly acceptable use of class time.

    Emi,
Some commiseration - Our holidays will be a little weird this year, because it will be the first holiday season since FI's dad passed, and the first since FBIL's divorce. At least we have Isla (our niece-it's her first Thanksgiving and Christmas). We can focus on her being there rather than the people who aren't there.

And some humor - Two pies were put in the oven. The first pie said "Ahh, we're going to be baked!" and the second pie said "Ahh, a talking pie!"

This day has been entirely too busy for a Friday.

I saw a show last night that I have to review for The Column and it was honestly awful.  I'm really worried about how to write the review and not sound like a total bootch.

This is more B&M than anything, but I hate how FFF is 2 pages, but on the main DFW page it doesn't tell you that.  So you have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the 1st page for FFF before you realize that there are two pages, and then you have to click the 2nd page to read the new posts.  I liked it when it had the page numbers listed on the main DFW page.

Again, not FFF-worth, but I bought David's first Christmas present yesterday and I am already having a problem not telling him that I bought something.  I seriously cannot keep any secrets from him.  I also want to rub it in his face that I was the first one to buy a Christmas present and that he's slacking.

Thanks Bananna! Yes, it is the 3rd Thanksgiving w/o my Mom and it doesn't get any easier. All the travelling and planning makes it a pain too. I'm being a downer...

    And thanks for the joke!

One of my bosses wants me to pitch in for a card and jewelry she bought for our store manager since her birthday is tomorrow. I didnt find this out until yesterday. So I went ahead amd bought our store manager a small cookie cake thing and a card of my own. I'm not pitching in for something I found out about last minute.

Jess, are you taking any new medications? I have a friend who changed one of her prescriptions, and it gave her a rash all over. That's the only thing I can think of.

Emi, you're welcome. It's the only joke I know!

That's what I was thinking.  I took an antibiotic for over a week before I had an allergic reaction to it, and I had the same thing.  Except my bumps were itchy...really itchy.  Also, another random thing that gives me the same reaction is if I use too much fabric softener.

I am trying to figure out what it is that I'm allergic to.  I haven't switched meds or started taken any new ones.

I am guessing it is my detergent or soap or something.  Which is weird because I have used the same stuff for over a year now, but I have read that it can cause a reaction even after that.

I am going to take some Benedryl tonight and see if that helps.

Emi, I'll commiserate a little.  The holidays are my favorite time of year and this year I really hate them.  I always get a little down after Christmas, but this year it's right now.  All our plans for Christmas are totally up in the air and it's driving me crazy.  I'm not a control-freak, but I don't like not having any clue about what's going to happen in a month.  I don't know how to plan around that.

My joke (to be read in a strong Southern Belle accent):
These two proper Southern ladies were sittin' on the front porch drinkin' their afternoon tea when one lady says, "when I had my first child, my husband bought me a house.  It was a maaaaansion."  The second lady says, "how niiiiiice."  The first lady says, "when I had my second child, my husband bought me a luxery sports car.  It was a Mercedes."  The second lady says, "how niiiiiiice."  The first lady says, "when I had my third child, my husband bought me a ring.  It was a diiiiiamond ring."  The second lady just says, "how niiiiiice."

So they sit and sip their tea for a bit and finally the first lady asks, "so what did you husband do for you when you had your children?"  The second lady says, "when I had my first child, my husband sent me to charm school."  The first lady says, "charm school?  Why, whatever did you do in charm school?"  The second lady says, "in charm school, I learned to say 'how nice' instead of 'f--- you.'"

It's my standard and probably a lot funnier in person when you hear it with the accent.

When I was a kid I disliked the holidays because there was so much fighting.  Now that they are shared with FI's family, all they do is fight over EVERY.SINGLE.LITTLE.THING.  (a fight went on for over an entire day over hand soap.  HAND SOAP!!).  So I still pretty much dislike the holidays thanks to fighting.  I think the only holiday I will enjoy is when we are at our own home.  Thankfully FI doesn't care for the fighting either.

There's no need to yell Fed-Ex when you walk through my doors.  I get it.  You have a bunch of packages and a purple outfirt on.  No one dresses like that for fun.  I like our UPS guy much better.

    My joke

A ducks walks into a bar and asks, "Got any grapes?"

The bartender, confused, tells the ducks that no, his bar doesn't serve grapes. The duck thanks him and leaves.

The next day, the duck returns and says, "Got any grapes?"

Again, the bartender tells him that, “no, the bar does not serve grapes, has never served grapes, and, furthermore, will never serve grapes.” The duck, a little ruffled, thanks him and leaves.

The next day, the duck returns, but before he can say anything, the bartender begins to yell: ''Listen, duck! This is a bar! We do not serve grapes and if you ever ask for grapes again, I will nail your little duck beak to the bar!''

The duck is silent for a moment, and then asks, ''Got any nails?''

    Confused, the bartender says “no”!

''Good!'' says the duck. ''Got any grapes?”

Wow! A 16 year old girl just jumped off our parking garage and committed suicide. Now I feel weird to get in my car like the garage is going to be haunted now. And it was on the side of the exit....I feel selfish because all I keep thinking is..."Now how am I supposed to get out of the garage??"

    Oh my gosh how terrible!

Sarah, I'd probably be thinking the same thing, too.  It's Friday.  All you want to do is get home.

Not the way I wanted to spend my day getting out of work....Apparently the police were trying to talk her out of it and she just jumped.

Oh and one of the executives are asking me how to exit the garage! Hell if I know....you see I am still here! And honestly I am not going to try to exit to figure it out and than come back in to tell everybody. There are like 20 police officers...I am sure they are directing traffic! WTH do I look like???? Security? Traffic Director?!

I'm going to flame myself for suggesting that Bill call his parents to let them know he went back to the doctor.  His dad lectured him when he called and then his mom just called (I guess she wasn't home) to read him the riot act about getting sick.  Then I had to listen to another five minutes of "We don't want to come and get sick like you".  That's the last timeI suggest Bill call his parents.

This is late, I know. But when you post something as for sale and it's a popular item out of common sense (at least to me it's common sense) you go to the person who posted 1st. Ask them if they still want the item and then go down the list. Don't send me an e-mail 2 weeks later telling the item I was most interested in sold fast, when I was the 1st person who said I wanted them!

*Disclaimer: Marissa this is not directed at you. I didn't want you thinking it was since we have recently or will soon have a transaction!

DH got hurt at work last Wednesday night, and has been home from work ever since. Come to find out, he has a hairline fracture in his knee, and can't go back to work until Sunday. Sunday cannot come fast enough. I love my husband, but I'm used to having my evenings alone. He drives me crazy. lol - I'm definitely looking forward to girls night out tomorrow!

Speaking of girls night out... my Dad called me yesterday to see if I could watch my two younger brothers tomorrow and have them spend the night... I said yes, I couldn't think of anything going on. I got home and told Sam and he reminded me that I'm going out to dinner... and he's getting stuck with the boys. :) lol

New Moon was fabulous. I will drool over 16 year old boys without a shirt on anyday.

I'm sorry but I have to COMPLETELY disagree with you.  Twilight was cheesy and so low budget to me.  I was so dissapointed and if I had not already read the books, I wouldn't have been interested in the Twilight series at all after the first movie.  I thought the acting was a lot better, the action scenes were great, the soundtrack was better, and the overall quality of the film was so much better.  I thought it was awesome and now I can't wait for Ecllipse to come out!
