Friday! Woo!

24

Re: Friday! Woo!

  • Morning! I'm getting my hair cut at noon, and I'm pretty excited. This week is Restaurant Week, and my parents are taking us out tonight. Tomorrow night is our church's Men Who Cook fundraiser. The men from the fellowship all being their best dish, and we get to try everything. This is H's first year participating, and he's making chili.
  • I had a dream that my crazy horse was normal and we were jumping awesome courses and he was behaving beautifully.  I'm hopeful that he'll be more mellow when I finally have time to ride him on a regular basis again.  He damn well better be, he's 13 now!

  • Good Morning! I'm getting ready to head to workout here in a few. Lucas comes home tonight. We'll be finishing packing this weekend and hopefully ge tthe keys to the new apartment on Tuesday. I think the next couple of weeks are going to be a chaotic mess. We're also having dinner at his sister's house on Saturday night. That's about the only non-moving related thing we've got going on.

  • I had a weird dream again last night. A former coworker, former classmates, and I decided to drive to the Dominican Republic for summer and work at a resort. Why we were DRIVING to the DR I'm not entirely sure. There were some detours along the way that resulted in picking up more people. It was very confusing.

  • Adamar, I think it's just a front moving through, so it should be nice for you guys up that way.

  • A - My horse is 14 now (where did the years go?) and he hasn't mellowed.  He still can flip himself inside out in the middle of the air pretty darn good.

I know, right?  I can't believe I've had Adamar for 10 years now.  He was so goofy looking when we first bought him.  It took him a LONG time to grow into his legs.  My trainer called him daddy long legs.

  • We are also going to an indoor waterpark on Sunday. We bought a Groupon and were supposed to go with some nieces and nephews, but no one else planned ahead. The Groupon expires Sunday, so we'll go by ourselves.
  • Good morning!
Yesterday was pretty sucky.  I missed a pass on my certification exam by one question.  Now I have to wait 3 more months to take it again.

Cleveland is under a lovely blizzard this morning too.

Fortunately FI's bday is next week, so we are meeting up with some friends tonight to have dinner, drinks and play pool and table shuffleboard.
Tomorrow is our late work holiday party.  They wanted to do it after holiday things had settled down for everyone.  It should be fun.  It's going to be a "Winter Carnival"
I don't know what is going to make it a Carnival, but I know there will be free food and drinks, so that's a plus.

Also, my brother is coming home from college for the weekend! I'm super excited to see him.

  • Sorry about your test, July. It sounds like your weekend will be fun.
  • MORNING and TGIF!

Sesh, I'm jealous of your cotton candy. Not so much your brilliant CW.

Tonight we're using the free tickets from the gym for a comedy club with one of our "couple friends" and after last night's escapade at the gym, I need it. Basically, after our free health consultation the personal trainer tried to forcefully convince us that if we didn't pay for personal training sessions that we were horrible people who didn't care about our health. Again and again. I was pissed.

Tomorrow I have an AHR (where the bride/wife wants everyone to wear jeans *score*) to go to and we're finally going to register at HD.
  • July I'm sorry you didn't pass your exam. That's a bummer.

But it sounds like you have lots of other things to look forward to for the time being.

  • July, sorry to hear this about your certification exam.  Totally sucks, I bet you will pass next time!  It sounds like you have a totally fun weekend coming up.  Enjoy yourself.

Habs, enjoy your time on the ski hill.  That sounds like fun too.

Special, a water park?  I would love that.  Goodness, I want to be in each of your shoes this weekend.  Even yours Fezz, I have never been to an Ikea but have heard they are wonderful.
  • July, what certification are you trying to get?

Thanks everyone.  I was more embarrassed and disappointed than anything else, but found out from others that I work with that they didn't pass the first time either.  So at least I was close.

    This weekend should be fun

Midge- Sorry to hear about your gym experience.  That sucks.  I hate when people disguise free services like that.

    Special-That sounds like fun!

  • Fezz, my best friend and I went to Ikea not long after she had her baby. She had been there before, but she was blown away by how baby-friendly they were. Bottle warmers, a microwave, plenty of changing areas with free diapers, etc. Have fun!

It's a sales certification for the eCommerce platform my company uses to make websites.  It's really not important in the scheme of things (I can continue to do my job without it, infact most people I work with don't even have it)<div>

At home reception. Even one of those where no one was invited to the actual wedding in FL but I'm actually okay with that. May have something to do with the fact that FI was invited with the words "Midge and bro can bring guests if they want".

  • I've discovered that I can no longer do water parks. I loved them when I was a kid (especially with Wet N Wild being so close), but either the quality of people has gone downhill or I'm more aware of how gross the parks are.
  • edited January 2012
    Sesh, your CW sounds... incredible.

Am I bad for having zero sympathy for a kid who doesn't realize there's a back side to his exam answer sheet even AFTER I point out the back of the answer sheet to the whole class?

ETA: YOU HAVE A WET N' WILD?!

They had one close to here when I was a kid and every time my family went to Dallas to visit I would beg to go, and now it's been bought and renamed and it just isn't the same.

  • Sesh, that's very true.  Cedar Point is about an hour and half from us.  I swear that place attracts the grossest people, and their waterpark is even worse.

I've seen people blow their snot rockets into the water....ick

  • I haven't been to a water park in 10 years. I want to go but I wonder if I will like them as much now.

  • I don't get why Cindy from the NJ board still comes around and give terrible advice or seems to disagree with what others have said just for the sake of it. After getting flamed to high heaven she still sticks her bratty little nose in here from time to time.

  • OMG I love Cedar Point. I love pretty much any amusement or water park. I'm easy.
  • Good morning!

It's rainy and gross here, but at least it's Friday. I think we're going to end up having a busy-ish weekend which is nice considering I've been completely antisocial the last few weeks.
  • I still love WnW and Blizzard Beach.

  • Midge, I still love Cedar Point and for a day's visit, I can handle the gross people.  I can always shower.
