    Yeah, Lynda, that's odd. She can't leave the kids with her husband? I'd make it to my sibling's wedding, even if I had to go by myself. It's not like she won't know anyone else there...

    OP - it sounds like your FI really wants April. I kind of understand. I'm not a summer person and if my FI had wanted to get married in August, for example, I would have been disappointed. We're doing an awesome photo shoot the day of the wedding, which will be in the fall, our favorite season. So it sounds petty, but I see where he's coming from. Maybe he wants to celebrate your anniversary in his favorite season. After all, you can choose your anniversary date. (FI and I both have spring birthdays, so now we'll have a fall anniversary.)

    Your sister sounds like a flake. It would be one thing to schedule the wedding around, like, military leave, but not "maybe I can take my kids out of school, but only if DH doesn't have to work." What if, god forbid, someone dies? Will she refuse to come to the funeral because her kids are in school? I missed 1.5 days of school in 6th grade when my grandfather died, and about a week of college classes when my grandmother was in hospice and then passed away. The horror!

    I still don't get why, if pulling the kids out of school is such a big deal, she can't come up with some other plan. She and her husband never go on a date? There isn't SOMEONE who can watch them? It boggles my mind...

    I don't get why you would want to take pics on a day other than your actual wedding day.  I would guess the day we get married we'll be so happy and smiley that the pics will reflect that.  I don't think the emotions would be properly captured on a day other than your wedding. 

    Also, don't plan your wedding based on your sister.  If she comes, she comes.  If she doesn't, then she sucks.
