Morning! Happy Tuesday!

How are ya? I was just reading Bheartsb's thread and when she mentioned her tiny box of a 700sqft apartment, I started giggling. Our house in MI is 800, and the apartment we lived in, in Italy was maybe about 450-500. Yeeeaaaaahhhh.... lol

So! What are your plans for today?

Good Morning Amoro! I'm good, just sitting here drinking a cup of coffee. I've been at work 45 minutes and nobody else is here yet, usually there are at least 3 people by now. It's going to be a slow day.

My first apartment was 805 sq ft and I thought it was enormous (it was a 2 bedroom) then I got a 1 bed that was like 500 sq ft and I still thought it was huge. I'm sure living alone in a 1 bed makes a big difference then it would with 2 people.

Anyhow, my plans for the day are work and then making dinner with Jocelyn. T has to coach some private soccer lessons so it'll be a quiet night. My life is soooo exciting.

I remember before we went to France in high school our teacher explained over and over again that the european hotel rooms were going to be much much smaller than we were used to, and even though she tried to get that in our heads each room shocked us.

We just finished dinner and are about to watch the new episodes of Top Gear (yes, we're geeks)

It looks like H got the job. He trains Wed/Thurs and has salary negotiations on Friday. But honestly, if he wants to stay in OZ he'll take what ever they offer.

And to weigh in on the size debate, it's all a matter of perspective. When my family moved from upstate NY to SC when I was in high school, we "downsized" to a 2500 SF house, and it seemed tiny.

450? Wow. DH and I have been spoiled by our rental house. We won't be able to afford one as big when we eventually buy, which means we'll have to give up our massive closet (a previous tenant converted one of the spare rooms into a closet, so the closet is literally the size of a bedroom).

I have no plans for today other than work for 10 hours, go home and take a nap, and prepare to cry yet again as I watch Deadliest Catch.

Oh yeah, plans for the day. My sister is dropping off her 2 girls with me so she can go get her hair cut while she is here, and doesn't have to pay roughly $150 for a basic cut. I think we will bake cookies.

I didn't cry until closer to the end, once when Phil was saying good-bye to Jake before he went to rehab and then when Josh got the call from the doc in the car, then had to call Jake.

And yeah, it will be hard seeing all the reactions to the news.

I inexplicably woke up 45 minutes early today and just laid there thinking about wedding crap, I can't wait until it's here and I can stop thinking about it, haha.

My first apartment was above the laundry room and the same size, I don't know the square footage but the 'kitchen' was a closet. It also had crow bar marks on the front door that made everyone think twice before entering.

Good morning, ladies!

My wedding-planning-related-energy has been renewed today for some reason. So I'm trying to get some things done while I still *want* to. Photosharing cards are done, RD invites are done, sent our song list to the DJ, and started our "must have" photo list. Whew! It's not even 9:00am.

FI and I live in a 1,100 sq ft apartment and it's not big enough for us. We're storing stuff in both my parents' basement and his brothers' garage. Oy!

Amoro, one of the longstanding cast members of Deadliest Catch passed away a few months ago, during the filming of this season... and he allowed the film crews to basically document the entire ordeal of his passing. I've been watching too... I'm not much of a crier but I think tonight will do me in. I almost broke down last week.

Morning! My last apartment was 600sq ft or so. It was okay when it was just me living there, but as soon as H moved in and got me a cat, it was entirely too small. We have about 1200sq ft now and it's just the right size. (I feel like Little Red Riding Hood with that statement).

And I, too will probably cry tonight watching Deadliest Catch. I liked the way they edited it last week and didn't make it overly emotional. I guess because it's mostly a guys show, they didn't want to scare their audience away.

He had a stroke / heartattack (i forget which) while on the boat so it took hours for him to get medical care. Then they were commenting on how much he progress and how well he was doing and recovering and then he had another incident and died. He was one of the best ship captains too. He had 2 sons that were on his boat so you really got a sense of how much he cared for his family and vice versa.

He had a series of strokes. It was pretty difficult because he was making amazing progress in his recovery, and then had another stroke that he didn't survive.

I think they handled airing the whole thing really well, but tonight will be hard. For some reason seeing the impact of the loss on other people is harder than the loss itself for me.

Good morning. I'm pissy and distracted today. I lost my watch and I HATE losing things. I get really obsessive about it and can't stop looking, long after I've realized that whatever it is, it's gone. Last night I tore our house up and today I keep feeling like my wrist is itchy where my watch should be. Not to mention, it was a really nice watch that H had given me.

He had a stroke (heavy smoker) and then was improving after a brain operation. Then he had another stroke and died. He insisted that the crew keep filming in between strokes, because he wanted the story to "have an ending".

I said this to H while we watched the last episode, but don't they always say that really sick people get amazingly better right before they get worse or die? I was thinking about that and I really think it's true.

You know the first place I look for lost items is the refrigerator. I have no idea why, but I always feel silly afterwards. Maybe it's a subconcious connection with stress and food. ;)

I've lost 4 family members to terminal illnesses, and no, that's not been true in the cases I've seen, ever. They go from bad to worse to coma and slip away. I'm pretty sure "moment of clarity where everything is fine" is a movie/TV creation, mostly (although I'm sure it happens occasionally in real life, in my experience, it's not the rule).

Morning. I'm trying to look busy at work. A coworker cornered me into going to lunch with her since "all her lunch buddies are out today", so I was dreading that, but then she came back ten minutes later to cancel because she'd gotten a better offer, so I'm off the hook. I'm such a lunch hermit. The only person I really ever bother to go to lunch with is my mom, and that's even rare these days. I just like to be free to knot, etc. at lunch, and lunch dates cut into that. It sounds more pathetic than it is. That's what I'm telling myself at least.

Georgia, I'm the same way. I eat lunch at my desk and sometimes dread it when someone asks me to go out. It seems lame, but I like it.
