Where is everyone?

And what are you all doing today?  We're having friends over to watch the Bengals playoffs game at 4:30.  Chili is in the crockpot, taco dip is chillin' in the fridge (even though I *really* want to dig into it, and I'm watching dumb movies on TV.

  • I'm watching Harry Potter all day. We just requested the Half-Blood Prince one on Netflix, and I haven't seen the others in a while so I'm having myself a marathon while H sleeps since he's on overnights. I own the first 4 movies, but I need to get ahold of the 5th somehow before I watch the 6th otherwise I'll confuse myself. I guess I could read the book again, oh well.

I love Harry Potter, btw :)

  • I'm here watching Law and Order, in my pajamas. Oh, and stalking friends on myspace. I should clean the house today
  • I am watching "Follow the Stars Home" on the hallmark channel. I really admire the mothers courage. I just finished a ham and cheese sandwich and having some veggies with ranch dip. I am taking my 9 y.o sister sleigh riding later.
  • I'm working but going to a surprise party later.
  • I just got home from my first yoga class and finally getting a joint checking account with DH.  Now, he's in the kitchen cooking up some fish tacos and I'm picking up the apt.  Tonight, we're going out to dinner with some friends who we haven't seen since before Thanksgiving.  I really wish we had just invited them over here because I really don't feel like going out in the cold again.

TLV - Do they have the 5th HP available to watch instantly on Netflix?
  • work was cancelled, so I just had lunch with DH, then a trip to the best ice cream place on island (all the milkshakes come with booze), then a trip to Kmart.  Now we are chilln out before the wedding.    DH is mad because cable is out. Hopefully it will be back on by 5:30 for the Jets game.

That must be common around the islands? In St. Kitts we went to an awesome Icecream place like that and they served some delicious beer.

Booze is always a must in the islands.  What else is there to do?

  • I'm watching The Stepfather (remake) in between a book and listening to Colden singing Eye of the Tiger on Rock Band.
  • I just got home - I went to the mall (huge mistake, the parking lot was a NIGHTMARE), then went to michaels to buy some stuff with my coupon and couldnt find anything, then bought booze and came home. Now I am waiting for the acceptable time to come for me to start drinking the booze (after 6)
  • I've lost my create a post option, anyone else? And my add a post button keeps disappearing too.

I have pizza in the oven. Still patiently waiting for a phone call with the answer of if we have this place or not. I hate waiting....stressing about it too so I'm feeling crappy.  I'm just browsing around here and FB. O and watching  L&O SVU
The post bottom seems to be disappearing for a few people. Often more then not.
Fi just left for work. He had a long stretch this week. Off tomorrow and Tuesday. Then Friday and Saturday soo I'm looking forward to this week.

  • not much going on here.  did the shopping, ate dinner, and just finished watching one of my favorite movies "the Red Violin".

Since the bottle of wine is gone, I think it might be snack time!

  • Well, today is Sunday- We've got some washing to do, but there was a horroruglyscary spider out there yesterday so H will be doing that! haha, in actuality we'll probably do it together and I'll freak every time I see something out of the corner of my eye. So much for my conversation the other day about spiders here being ok. This one was a bit of a monster... it probably only had a two inch span but it was just so chunky and ugly.

Anyway, spiders aside, we don't have a lot planned for today. Grocery shopping, booking my haircut (STILL undecided on what to do!) and vacuuming the house. Oh, and taking down the Christmas tree that's been up forever.

I may look at the times that Avatar 3D is screening. We keep saying we're going to go, but it's such a long movie I don't know if I can be bothered sitting through it.

  • Ha Sun, wait until you find one of those in your bra cup!  I started checking pant legs and turning socks inside out etc before they came into the house.  When we get back it will be a clothes dryer for me all the way!

  • I'm waiting on SIL to come pick me up so she & I can go out to dinner later tonight with MIL. I don't have to drive anywhere tonight so I see massive booze in my future. Benihana. MMM...
  • Right now, it's too hot to be adding to the heat in the house by using a clothes drier. But yeah, this thing was a monster. Not a little tiny spider. A monster spider. I took a picture on H's iphone, let me see if I can figure out how to get it off...
  • (and ewww- finding it in my bra cup or in some other item of clothing is my fear exactly! H sprayed it with pest killer, and then it started wandering around. Who knows where it ended up- I didn't want to keep watching it and giving myself nightmares!
  • Sun, I used clothes dryers all of my life and I have never had one heat up the house.

And I can't believe you were lying to people and telling them the spiders weren't bad there.  I had to check my sheets and under the pillow every night before I went to bed.  i slept in long sleeves, long pants and socks for fear that one would crawl over me (this was after I found black house spider webs (funnel webs) in the window sills!

  • I'm here, sitting and watching the football pregame show while I have some fruits getting drunk on rum in the fridge so I can make them into sangria later. I have a feeling I'm going to have a fun evening with my brother and sister after that's ready.

I've heard tell before of those horrendously large Australian spiders. I don't think I could handle it. As it is, I have a terrible phobia of the stinkbugs in my apartment in Delaware.

Wouldn't it be nice to live together in the kind of world where we belong?
  • Holy crap sun & amrs, Australia is now OFF of my list of places to visit.  I can't deal with spiders, and I require a clothes dryer.  Yuck!

I went this morning and reffed volleyball, which was interesting.  I'm home now to watch the UK game, and then we're going out with friends tonight.

Haha I was not lying! They are not that bad (it's not my fault you were suffering over-vigilance! :P Actually though, from what I've been reading online funnel webs aren't even found in WA...). We live in semi-bush land- and hardly ever have any spiders in the house... like, perhaps two last year? As a kid, we used to play on vacant lots near my parent's house, and I've never been bitten (or, come close to being bitten, as far as I'm aware) by a spider. I haven't ever actually seen a funnel web, either- I thought I had earlier this year, but when I looked it up the other day, it seems that it was more likely to be a wolf spider (funnel webs are apparently black and big- this thing was brown).

But, just to prove my honesty, I'll share with you the HIDEOUS MONSTER of a thing that I almost put my hand into yesterday. Holy mother of God, this thing was horrible.

Ok, so here's the view of it on the line- you'll need to click on it to see it, probably. It was well hidden.

and here's an enlarged version of the monster. I swear, it was ready to attack.
