Re: Happy Monday!

• Good morning!  Bec your sig makes me smile every time I see it :)

I'm drinking coffee and trying to motivate myself to do something productive.  I have a decent amount of things i need to accomplish today, but meh.

• Morning!

Nothing too exciting this week unfortunately.  I'm hoping to finish up a set of experiments and what not this week.  FI made ::cough:: encouraged me to sign up for a 10K this coming weekend.  I can totally do it, I've run that distance and more plenty of times but something about the actual race itself freaks me out.  I'm CRAZY competitive so I tend to stress out about time, which is never really an issue.  I'm a bit of a weirdo.  Also, Wednesday I'm getting my first filling and I'm slightly terrified.
• Morning. I had a great weekend at the powwow, sold lots of books, made lots of connections, learned a lot about future events/ideas for events. And, I got to hang out with family.

Tonight H's friend is coming over. He's in town on business and I have a feeling he will be crashing in our spare room since he is (or was, haven't seen him in awhile) a drinker. But, he's one of H's friends that I actually like, so I don't mind.

Other than that, my week will be spent editing so I can hopefully finally get this book out the door.
• HI BEC!!!

I just purchased our tickets for Hunger Games.  We're going to go Wednesday night to the VIP theatre.  19+, comfy reclining chairs, assigned seating, Derek can have a beer, I'm IN!  I wonder how many times I'll have to get up to pee in 2.5 hours.....

lbarr, you can do it! (both the 10K, and the filling).

• lbarr good luck on the 10K!

Sesh, that's so exciting that you're close to finishing editing you book!

• Good morning.  I had a pretty good weekend.  Nothing too exciting though.

The exciting thing for me this week is starting my new job on Friday.  I can't wait.  I'm tired of 18 year old snots arguing with me over their courses schedules.

• I haven't read the Hunger Games books yet but all of the talk about how good the movie is makes me want to go see it. But I have to wait until it's captioned in theaters.  Boo.

• Good morning. I put my two weeks notice in at work on Saturday. I might be taking a job as an elderly companion, which will be less hours, less demanding, and easier physically. I was offered the job to start the week after Easter. I'm just in too much pain after my 6/7/8 day stretched to enjoy life. I also have an interview at a hair clinic as a stylist this Wednesday. I'm not sure which I would rather do, but the clinic is more stable. I think it's what's best for me right now but H isn't so sure. He supports me in my decisions, but he thinks it's going to hurt financially. I told him we will have to cut it down to seeing one movie a week and only eating out once a week too. That will save us a couple hundred a month.

Zou bisou bisou! I'm still on a mad men high from lastnight. My car won't start, I'm waiting for CAA to get here. I dunno if its cause its freezing cold and I was low on gas or something else. Its not the battery I know that. I will be fucking pissed if its something else and it makes it so we can't afford osheaga tix.
• Thanks, LP! I really need to change it, but I don't have a lot of pics of myself, and I turn sigs off so I can read posts quicker, so I forget it's there. :)

HI RAYNES!!! I clicked sigs on for a sec to see that you have a month left! Eeeeeep! How exciting!

dj, I had a great day, and still didn't enjoy Mad Men as much as I wanted to. I think it's mostly because they are exiting my favorite era of fashion. The story this season had better make up for that or I'll be pissed!

Sesh, a Pow Wow sounds Fun Fun. :)

Black water in the toilet, edie? Eewwww! That sounds like a Monday.

Lbarr, good luck on the 10K and the filling. Both of those sound equally horrific to me, so you're already better off than I would be with your week. :)

<div>With all of the Hunger Games hype I recently did a Wiki search and read the synopsis.  I think I need to start reading.  I am usually sorely disappointed in movies after reading the book so my motto is always to start with the books first.  </div><div>
LP, I think I found one  theater that has captions near me, but I also want to read the book first. I think i'll just buy the Blueray when it comes out.
Posted by edielaura
<div>Yay for captioned theaters!! Is it open captions, or rear-window captions?  Open captions are MUCH better - that's where the captions are right on the movie screen.  For R-WC you have to get a mirror like this</div><div>
</div><div>
<a href="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/images/store/9/10/b980a6e0-8e4e-4dd7-8aae-d4484c480fb8.large.jpg" title="Click to view a larger photo" class="PhotoLink"> <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/images/store/9/10/b980a6e0-8e4e-4dd7-8aae-d4484c480fb8.medium.jpg" alt="" /></a>
</div><div>
</div><div>I hate it because it's really hard to position correctly, and then sometimes the mirror slides down so you have to keep readjusting it.  And, you can't move your head around much because if you do, you can't see the captions anymore.  Makes me crazy.  I only use it if it's a movie I REALLY want to see, and open captions aren't an option. </div>

• I started HG yesterday and it's pretty decent. It's a quick read though which I don't always like. I want more book for my buck!

I also read a sample of the Ritual which a few people mentioned in the last book thread. That will definitely be the next thing I pick up.

I have a fairly busy week at work again. I'm hoping it doesn't drag as badly as last week did.

• Edie, I've never seen that before.  Interesting! I've only ever seen OC and RWC in theaters.

At Disney World, they have this handheld captioning device you can use on rides and during shows that have talking.  It was really cool, though sometimes it lagged behind a bit.  That was in 2009 though so maybe it's improved since then.

• Tell me about it Bec!!

Nebb, that blows.  Hopefully it's nothing.

Derek and I watched episodes 10&11 of TWD last night.  We'll probably watch the last 2 tonight.  My torrent program wasn't accepting magnet links anymore, so I was having issues downloading them the week they were on.  I fixed that all yesterday, so it's TWD time again!  As we watched Season 1 on Netflix and the first half of Season 2 a bunch of episodes at a time, it was hard to only watch 1 episode a week.  Either way, the end of episode 11 gave me the sads (Dale).

Apparently it was my battery but I didn't leave anything on, you can't with my car. He didn't know why other than it just needed to recharge so he jumped me and I'm sitting in my car for a bit. I have to get gas my light is on! But he said to leave it on for 20 minutes. Also? Next time I have to poop I'm TOTALLY saying "I have tickets to the bean ballet and the curtain is about to go up". Just sos you guys know
• morning.

I have nothing exciting going on this week, so I'll probably just sleep as much as possible. Michael is going on a fishing trip with his grandpa tomorrow and I think he's going to be gone for a few days. I should use that quiet time to clean and get some stuff done around the house, but I have a feeling I'll just sleep.

Get ready to do some yelling and shouting. I don't think anyone who watched the finale kept quiet throughout the show it was that intense. I wanna watch it again.

You can be driving the car for that 20 mins Nebb.  It doesn't just have to sit!

I can put the last episode in my public Dropbox and give you a link if you want!

• Nebb, I hope your car cooperates with you now and doesn't do that again!  I have an awful habit of not getting gas until my tank is on empty.  H scoffs at me every time he sees my gas light on.  He's a get gas when the tank is still 1/2 full type of person.

• Hey Bec! I have to work the day shift and then I have my midterm tonight. Im not looking forward to.work. I got into it with one of my managers Saturday night. I was so pissed I called out sick yesterday. Midterm should be easy.

• Oh and I waited too freaking long to get gas, again, so I had to do the whole get $75, have it automatically shut off, restart it for a whopping $4.75. $75 gas cut offs were a great idea when gas was $1.fucking.70 a gallon, not so much now.

And on Friday when I pulled into the house after work, I heard a hissing sound and my driver, front tire was going flat. So I had to blow $233 on a new tire, when I was planning on replacing all of them this summer.

car maintenance is balls.

Yuck on carshit, nebb and dmiller. That sucks!

Nebb, what did you think of MM? I hated the first hour, and loved the 2nd. I'm so ready for next week, and I hope the season goes like the 2nd half of the premiere! We are haivng a MM cocktail party in our office this Friday, complete with candy cigs, booze and 1960s dresses (the good ones from the early part of the decade!)

ETA: HI BLUE!
• Blue - That's sucky.  Hopefully today will go smoothly?

My car blows.  I mean, it's old and it runs (now it wont because I said it "blows"), but there's always mysteriously leaking oil.  It smelt awfully funny yesterday and open the hood and BAM oil slowly leaking.  We've fixed it a million times and I've begun to think it is unfixable.  It still runs so I can't convince myself to get a new car yet.  I already know what I want so it's a matter of when it dies.  Rumor has it FMIL is going car crazy again and looking at what I want after FI mentioned it.  I know I can't place dibs on a car but C'MON, I've only been talking about it forever! <--- irrational.

I loved the whole episode. Loved it. From start to finish. Roger was killing me, his fighting with that secretary, him singing, just all his one liners. I loved just getting a handle of where we were at in the story and how no one had really changed. Peggy and her bf at the party were so cute, their dancing lol and how frigging awkward they both are. I have no complaints other than lane being a creepy mc creeperson. Oh and I waited 20 mins and went to get gas and my car won't start again. Fucking yay! Having it towed to canadian tire.
• We found a spot in our paint in the lower level of the house that's bubbling yesterday.  The inspector didn't see it, and we didn't catch it, so I don't know if it's new or not, and I'm hoping whatever it is won't cost a billion dollars to fix.

Other than that, I'm ready for a good week!  I have a longish day today, but then MJ Cirque du Soleil tomorrow and I'm excited for that!

lbarr, if you have to keep getting it fixed, and can afford a new/used one, then personally I would rather just get a ew car and put the money towards a car payment (a controlled cost) rather than on fixing it all the time (an uncontrolled cost).

Aldo, your irritation with your FMIL reminds me - my MIL is nuts.  She whites out her birthday on her drivers license because she's afraid of age discrimination and doesn't like telling anyone how old she is.  I forgot her birthday this year back in January (H called her for it, but didn't remind me about it).  She called H last week all upset, thinking that I hate her because I didn't wish her happy birthday (way back in JANUARY), and said that she thought it was because I'm mad about/didn't like my Christmas presents.

WTF?  I actually did like my Christmas presents and I thanked her a million times.  And even if I didn't, I'm not 5 and I would never intentionally not wish her happy birthday just because I didn't like a present.  And I don't get making a huge fuss about people not knowing your age, then getting upset when they forget your birthday.  Yes, I should have remembered, but still.  Argh.

• Celtic, try sidereel.com

Morning! I'm extremely frustrated with J (the head of the school here).  The server has been down for a week now which means we have to use personal laptops if we want computers during the day (the wireless still works) and then email things to ourself if we want to print it.  Then we need to go on her computer in the office to print it, as she's the only one with a computer that is hard wired to the printer.  The server is STILL down this morning.  I asked her this morning about it and she said she's had more than one person check it out and nobody knows how it works because D set it up (D was the IT guy who was part of the group of teachers who left).  I suggested we call D and ask him to come in for the day and maybe pay him on a contract basis since he's the ONLY person who seems to know how the server is set up.  She flat out refused because she does not want him in the building.  Ooookay lady.  Your grudges are totally more important than the functionality of your teaching staff.

I hope everyone has a good day!
