• I don't think I could ever see an education being wasted, because the things we are taught will follow us through every day activities whether we like it or not.

I mean, I did 6 years of school, and I'll likely be a SAHW for a while, or maybe I'll just work from home because I have a career that has the possibility to do that, but either way, I will always use my skills that my education has given me.

There was an absolutely hysterical blog post like 10 years ago that I haven't been able to find, where someone actually dissected what the LOTR characters would be like in bed.  I remember her saying that Legolas was the sort of guy who thought he was AMAZING in the sack but who legit sucked because he was too busy caring about what he looked like, and was good for HIM and not about what worked for you.  I can't remember most of them but I remember laughing at it.

    Very possible.

But sometimes guys with that kind of ego are REALLY good because they want you to go and tell everyone you know how great they were.  Not that I know from personal experience or anything.

Cfas - I went back and forth so many times with thinking about quitting engineering.  Here I am today, still an engineer, and I fantasize about becoming a high school math/physics teacher.  I didn't realize that you were an Aero though.  My BFF is, too.  When I first discovered finite element analysis after learning (and being enchanted) about it while visiting grad schools, I asked her if she'd heard about it.  She was like "DUH!  I've been doing that for the last year or two in undergrad!"   Anyway, yay Aeros!

I do too.  I did figure out the first one, about how saying on FB that you'd found your wedding dress was just as bad as talking about bigger wedding details - that was chels.

But I am curious who she thinks is too dependent on her spouse.

  • Aragorn is damn sexy, and I don't like facial hair (I feel the same about Captain Jack Sparrow). I don't like Viggo as a blonde, but I admit I was a bit pleased with the shower fight scene in Eastern Promises.
  • Eagles - That was driving me nuts too.  Yes, there are sometimes exceptions and yes, that was one of them.  Hell no I wouldn't invite a known thief with battery charges to my wedding.  Screw etiquette and social units be damned.  Not happening.

Nope, I actually said there's a huge difference between saying "I finally found my dress!" and actually addressing your guests via fb with something like "Hey, let me know if anyone has trouble RSVPing" or osmething else.
I flame everyone in the "Do I have to invite a thief?" thread who said "Blah blah blah, social unit."  I realize it was the minority, but come on.  The dude has stolen from his infant and is in jail.  No, he does not need to be invited.  I'm sad I missed the party lines thread.  I personally hate "Is this a hill you want to die on?"  It's a wedding.  It's not the Battle of Antietam.
    Posted by EaglesBride2012
I was part of that minority, and I admit I was toeing the party line on that.

How do YOU know my wedding wasn't an epic battle, Eagles?  Because it WAS.  With swords and catapults.

I flame everyone in that thread who spelled it "theif".  I KNOW the OP posted it that way, but come on.  We all know the "i before e" rule.

    ...I hope.
