Sash, or no sash...

that is my question. I really wanted to take the "boob" flower off of my dress so I can wear a sash, but it seems as though it's not something that can be done because there is just mesh underneath (I still have to confirm this, though). Here is my gown:

Would it look strange if I added a beaded/rhinestone belt? Not something too wide, I'm thinking no more than 1-2". I feel like my dress is a little plain, and I want to add some "spice".

However, I also don't want to look like I'm wearing too much! This is my jewelry:

I will not be wearing a bracelet or any other jewelry besides these. I will be wearing my hair up like this, and wearing a feather fascinator:

Too much, or is adding a sash okay? Thanks, I appreciate (and trust) your opinions!

I love your dress as is, but I also think it'll look great with a sash/belt. I don't think it would be too much at all.

Would you place the sash just below your bust line, like underneath the flower or lower on the dress? I think if it were something simple to just add alittle sparkle to your dress that it would look great. I worry that anything too big next to the flower might make things cluttered.

I kind of like it the way it is now =] I feel like a sash would interrupt the beautiful silhouette you have in the dress! Plus, I have a weird thing about sashes/belts.

I like it the way it is. And I do worry it would be too much with the flower if they are too close. If placed further away then it could be okay depending on what it looks like. I think your dress is gorgeous and honestly FWIW if it were me I'd leave it.

I wouldn't add a sash if you are leaving the flower. I love your dress and think that there will be enough detail with the "boob flower," your jewelry, and the details of your skirt.

I wouldnt do a sash...it would cover up the ruching on the side that in my mind is part of what makes the dress so pretty. It already gives you a tiny waist so I think a sash would take away from the dress more then it would add to it.

I typically love sashes, but I think that one on your dress would interrupt the silhouette/flow of the dress and would be too much with the flower. The flower and the ruffles at the bottom of the skirt provide just enough detail/visual interest.

I tried on my dress again tonight, and I still feel like it's just missing a little something. I checked the flowers, and both of them (the one under the bust and the one at the top of the skirt) can be removed. I really love the idea of a sash, and I think if I remove the flowers and add a nice crystal/rhinestone belt (nothing too flashy) I'll be perfectly happy with my gown.

Ohhh I love this idea! If you took off the flower and did a big broach i think it would look aweome without taking away from the detail thats already there....then you dont get the straight lines of the sash interrupting the flow of the dress, but it still adds something!

I think it looks perfect just the way it is, but when you add a belt it sometimes as that perfect little touch.

Show us pics once you get the belt made, and we can help. J Either way it will be beautiful. The dress looks great on you.

I'm all late in the game, but we're dress twins! I have a sash and my original plan was to take off the "boob" flower as well as I thought it was just "too much"..

my alterations lady was trying to convince me to keep it on, so she hasn't taken it off yet but had me take a "maybe" photo with my hand covering it (which is still just as distracting, actually :P)

I'll try to post it in a few.. i'm on a mac that i usually don't use and can't figure out how ot rotate photos! ha
