I just tried to picture my maple leaf heart and it may or may not have made me snort. (Let's go with "it may")

And on that note - my work day is over...and my lists and I are going home! haha

Jeana- Totally serious question. If Josh is so shy and doesn't like to be around people that he doesn't know, how is sales a good idea? Don't you think that will stress him out? I am genuinely curious.

Hetshup - I know I can't speak for Josh but in my situation I am so painfully shy at times that it's almost a handicap. I would rather starve than call the chinese/pizza delivery place. But all day long I am on the phone making/receiving calls to strangers. I've always been like this, if it's my job I can do it, if not oh hell no.

Uhh, that's actually a good question. It never seemed odd to me. I'll see if I can explain:

He doesn't like to be around people and he HATES crowds. I think he gets this because his parents are the same way. They think anyone they don't know is potentially a serial killer or stalker or weirdo, and they don't make new friends... like, ever. They have the same friends they've had for years.

Josh FORGETS that he DOES have friends other than the 2 guys he's known since high school. He'll say he doesn't have any friends here, and I'm like "What about A, B, and C? And even D!" and he's like "Oh, yeah. I guess they are friends."

But he doesn't like to get close to people, he doesn't like to tell anyone anything about himself, and he doesn't want to give too much away. It's really like a "strangers are bad" complex.

However, when Josh actually RELAXES and opens up, he is probably the nicest, most likeable guy you'd ever meet. When he's with his old buddies and other people he's comfortable with, he is genuinely goofy and happy and very open.

He can fake that when he wants to. And it's pretty convincing. As long as he keeps the conversation on business, he is very capable of working with people to achieve something... whether it's a sale or finishing a project or whatever.

Honestly, I don't know. He likes sales. He's worked retail, and he still wants to do sales....

Apparently for him people are just a completely different animal when it's business vs. personal.

BF is the same way, Jeana.  He always says "I don't have any friends." and then I list some off and he's like "Oh yeah..."

But then when they want to hang out with him, he always comes up with an excuse.  Haven't figured that one out yet.  Not far along in my psychology degree to diagnose him. ;)

Same as mine. Ugh, it drives me crazy. Friends invite us out, and his first question is "Where are they going?" like, if he doesn't like the place he just won't go.

Yeah FI used to do this A LOT. In his case it was because his ex used to pitch a fit when he went out without her. It took me a while (like 2 years) to let him know that I was okay with it.

My FI is quite the opposite of a few of your SO's. Since he is in car sales he is talking to people all day. When we go out places he fairly consistently will drum up converstaions with waiters/bartenders/strangers. I don't get it. I don't really talk to people unless I have to.

A few years ago I was the outspoken crazy one of the group. Now, in recent years I have developed almost an anxiety about being around people where I don't know anyone. I would rather miss out on something then to go to something where I would only have 1 friend there.

BF's problem that really frustrates me sometimes is that he won't be willing to do something that isn't very exciting (like hang out at someone's house and play games) just for the sake of the friendship, but then he gets sad when his friends stop asking him to come over.

Silly boy. I love him anyway. :D

Haha, yeah I was curious if we knew each other! Saying you're from Syracuse when you lived in Liverpool isn't bad. When I was a freshman in college, a girl and I were talking and I asked where she said she was from Syracuse so I asked her which part and she said, "Lowville." I was shocked. Lowville is like an hour and a half north!

I do teach in the city. I love it! I started out as a sub and it was hell. I did all grades and all subjects, Pre-K to 12. It has worked out so far though! I teach 1st grade at a great school. As long as the budget comes through, I'll be set!

My favorite Beanie Baby was Zip. My first email was when I was like...11, when the things were still popular. My mom wanted me to have it be "Zipis#1" since Zip was taken, buuuut you couldn't have the # in there. Thus, zipis1 (zip_is_1). And I've just stuck with it

Zipi is what most online people call me.

    Your age:
    22

What do you do for a living/studying in school:
I'm studying Animal Science: Pre-veterinary Medicine. Hopefully will go on to be a vet eventually.

What your SO does for a living/studying in school:
He graduate as a Political Science major with a minor in English, but there aren't any jobs out her for either of those, so he's paying the rent for now as a Round Table delivery boy til our lease is up and we can leave.
