I too would need to know how ugly to how pretty and how dumb to how smart.
Average looking with brains. Sure.
Quasimodo with brains - No thanks. No amount of brains would make up for a hunchback in my life.
I think I'd rather be pretty. As brutal as it is, looks can get you places brains just can't. And vise versa aswell, but damn, I would want to be pretty.

What do we consider slightly below average looks? Physical attractiveness varies so much from person to person. One person's Jim Krasinski is another woman's Quasimodo.
Brains? Those suckers are universal. Everyone will think you're smart, but not everyone will think you're beautiful.

I agree.
Also, I'm curious what people think these advantages to being pretty are. I can see it might help you in a job interview, but it isn't going to help you get the interview, and it isn't going to help you get into college, and it isn't going to make people like you if you're a dumb biitch anyway. I know there are studies on they subject but I think the effect is overstated sometimes.

Alix, I think she's saying that you need a resume to get an interview in most cases. I think it's kind of rare that people know what their candidates look like before they choose to offer them an interview. Obviously an in-house promotion is a different monster entirely, but I get what she's sayin'.

Because attractive people cannot possibly be nice and/or smart. Duh. I thought everyone knew that.
I don't think it does LVB, but if you are a dumb biitch being pretty isn't going to help. There are plenty of nice pretty people in the world but I think people like them because they are nice, not because they are pretty.

This board is chuck damn full of absolutely beautiful and smart women who I love like crazy. For real.
I think the problem sometimes is that it's easier for people to say, "yeah, I'm smart" than it is to say AND BELIEVE "yeah, I'm pretty."
The people who are saying they'd choose pretty are seriously absolutely beautiful women who are way above average looks. I guess that's the part I don't get.

In some instances sure, but if you're going the recruiter/job fair/employment office route for interviews, of course pretty can get you an interview.
Yeah, you can be a 'dumb biitch' and be really fecken smart too. There's different kinds of smart and I don't think it's 'fair' to pull in personality. But it's all hypothetical anyways. So ::shrug::
