Ghoti, I don't think anyone really notices the BM dresses unless they're truly awful.  My BMs wore the same color/cloth but everyone had a different dress.  Most people didn't even notice that there was a difference until they looked at pictures afterwards or I pointed it out.  It'll be okay, and at least you know your BMs are reasonably happy if their dresses show off their personalities.

I think Bakersfield and Fresno are the two armpits of California.
  • Ghoti I wouldn't worry too much about what other people will think about your bridesmaids' dresses. I prefered my girls to be comfortable than to be shoved into something I wanted.

  • ciara - nursing still going well?

  • Bree- I'm actually in Ann Arbor (have been for almost 9 years now).  I think its really in the last 2-3 years that I've starting venturing into Detroit itself and been really impressed with it actually.
  • It is going alright. He prefers the bottle right now because he doesn't lose suction like he does on the boob. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to try to eat and get some one minute and nothing the next. With the bottle we squirt it in his mouth in small quantities and that makes him very happy.

  • Ciara - the thought of you squirting a bottle into Edmund's mouth makes me smile. I'm not sure why.  Maybe its just that he's adorable.
  • It is adorable. Right now he is snuggling on my MILs chest. It's kinda nice to have my hands free for a minute.

  • Oh I didn't even think of that! Is his cleft making it hard? Can you put your finger there to help keep suction? I used to do that for mine when I'd get engorged, it was hard to get a latch.  I used to check out Kellymom.com a lot when I had questions :) Sorry if I'm being too nosy :D
  • Aww I totally miss the newborn stage :) Would love more pics if you take any!!!
  • Because of the fact that his nasal passage and mouth are not closed off like they are supposed to be. On my right side he really doesn't have any issues because he uses my boob to complete his lip. Left side is another story. I've been pumping and feeding him mostly that. We have also been supplementing with formula because he did lose over a pound in the first 4 days.

[QUOTE]I have to admit that I've not actually been to Detroit yet, as I pretty much stay around the town we live in.  I'm really excited for all the things Detroit has to offer. But you're right people do write it off, unfortunately.

    Detroit?

I read the other day that almost half of the population of Detroit is functionally illiterate.

    Watch out!
  • OMG, Ciara.  Those pics are perfect.  I especially love the ones of the two of you together.

You were posting on the Catholic Brides board for a while but  haven't seen you recently.  Anything in particular off there?

Oot -- maybe she realized that we're cooler on E.
  • OOT - Nothing in particular "off" wide me on CW.  I just haven't felt like I've had much to add lately.  I don't do NFP, but understand the church's teaching on it and actually think its cool (just not for me right now), so I try to stay out of that.  I didn't feel like getting into the vaccine debate.  And in a lot of ways, I feel like I still have so much to learn from that board, that I don't chime in unless I feel like what I have to say is definitely valuable.

I still read it regularly, and will go check it right now!
  • Mica - I think that's really funny coming from a mod on both boards!

    haha

a certain poster is a just a bit pissed with me on that vaccine debate
  • Aww love those pics!
  • I actually just read a news article about the increase in measles cases due to decreases in vaccinations, and thought about posting it.  Then I decided it really didn't add anything.
  • mica's right

    far cooler here

Oh, oot, you know that she's a bit insecure.  You scare her.  I probably scare her sometimes (I'm just guessing that the harlot comment might have been directed at me since she knew that I wore a strapless dress and commonly mention it on CW.)

    <div>Hi, everyone!</div><div>
</div><div>I saw this and had to chime in...if she thinks you're a harlot just for wearing a strapless wedding gown, she must have a pretty low opinion of most women. wow! </div><div>
</div><div>And Ciara, I love seeing pictures of your baby, he's adorable!</div>

  • PS.  My dress is also strapless.  I don't feel even the littlest bit bad about it.
  • OMG

I'm watching Letterman show and Jodi Foster is a guest, she just came on.

Letterman announced her as a talented actress and director of the new movie

    "Beaver"
