So I saw several postings on the something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue so it got me curious to look into it a little bit. My mom always tried to get a current year's penny for family members when they got married to put in their left shoe, and I never understood why, utnil I just now looked up that saying...it ends "and a silver sixpense in her shoe". So I went online and bought an authentic silver sixpense on ebay for $3.75 with shipping and handeling. so Check, I have that. I have my grandma's wedding gown that I was going to cut up into garters and hankies for my cousin and I, but now I don't think I have the heart to cut it up. So, I think my something old is the rings/diamonds. We melted down his grandparent's and dad's rings to have gold to have our rings custom made, and the daimonds are coming out of the same pieces...and my diamond in my engagement ring is out of my grandmother's engagement ring. so I have something Old, and a silver sixpense. I think I have a good start....now just for the new, borrowed and blue. I think I am going to have my mom embroider a hankie for me with some blue thread.
