List 'em.

2) Losing your keys.

3) Not hearing from someone when you expect to

What are yours?

  • OOO good one with the email mag. I'll add texts to that. Texting the wrong person can be disasterous.

  • 1. Having a parent in the hospital, and being genuinely concerned that every call from the hospital number may be a nurse saying mom won't make it.

    2. Getting a call from someone at a very unexpected time.  It's almost never a good thing.

    3. Losing your credit cards or ID.
  • Being as hungover as I am, right now.  Ugh

Hungover and not remembering what you did the last half of the night is the worst. Been there.

  • 1)  When FI calls from the fire house and the caller ID says "Phila City Co" (and you don't know if its him or someone who is going to say "meet us at the hospital")

    2)  The awkward hugs at funerals from people you haven't seen in 5+ years

    3)  Being late/sleeping through the alarm/losing keys
  • A computer crash.

AND you didn't save your work.
  • Also: going to your car and finding that it's not there because it's been towed.
  • Yes! When youthink youve lost your dog, definitely. That is the worst for me. (or pet)

When you say something and realize after it may have offended someone.
When you get half way to where you are going and realize youve forgotten something you need (in my case, glasses)
When you get laid off from your job
When you get "the call" from the hospital about a family member who has been fighting somehting long term, alternately when you get a call in the middle of the night you know its bad.
  • When you think you may have lost your dog.

I don't have a dog, but it's happened twice with Howie and I about had an emotional breakdown.

Definately.  And getting the distinct feeling that you probably did or said something incredibly stupid and offensive, and then having to talk or deal with the person who you may have offended later.

I agree with everyone who mentioned being late/running late for something. That makes me feel ill.

Saying something about your SIL to your DH (it was neither kind nor mean) and then realizing that she has been be right behind the couch getting something out of her bag the entire time and has most likely heard every word you said. OOPS.

The feeling you get right before you puke. Yuck.

This, times fifty bazillion. And when it isn't from poor decisions on your part makes it worse.

    This.

    - When the dog/cat is really sick and you have no idea why, because obviously they can't tell you.
    - Then worrying about the vet bill when it turns out to be that the dog ate concrete. ( or anything that requires surgery)
    - Not knowing how much longer a chronically ill parent will keep holding on.
    - Losing your car keys/whole purse/debit card/ Fi's debit card ( I lose things a lot).

Oh my god...me and my daughter were walking our friends chihuahua once and my daughter accidentally dropped the leash and the dog ran towards the busy street.  I did a flying tackle on my knee and started crying immediately.  I would have died if she got hurt.  (I caught her)

Also, when we went to Spain, our chihuahuas escaped from our friends yard and started running down the dark street.  Luckily they had just let them out to pee and realized quickly and chased them down.  I bet they felt sick all night.

    I'll second this.

Knowing that you have to pee really badly and knowing that you're probably not going to make it to a bathroom.

When you're drunk and the room starts spinning and for the love of christ, you can't make it stop.
