Re: Wii & NetFlix

  • I know!!!  I'm waiting on my disc now so I don't have to hook up the laptop to the plasma anymore!!!  I'm excited about it.  I just got the email last week, so you're not that far behind.
  • We can do it through our TiVo and I knew you could do it with a PS3 and an XBox, but I had no idea about the Wii. That's cool!

  • My Tivo is too old, so I haven't done it. I am actually on the Wii right now using the internet feature on Netflix.  We'll see if it works that way too

  • I might try that.  I know in the email, it had a link to request the disc to use NetFlix.  So I should have the disc this weekend.
  • Yeah, not supported without the disk :(  Oh well, the disk should only take a couple days.

Being home sick today I thought it would be cool to watch movies all day long.  Guess it's back to LMN

  • I am a little peeved.  I bought the Roku and even though I LOVE it, I have a Wii and would've preferred to save the money.

  • I love streaming Netflix on our PS3.  The quality is even better than on the computer.

This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

  • I lost my PS3 the week before they announced it would be available to stream on there.  I guess that's what I get for kicking my kids' dad out, since that was the only material thing he brought into the house.
  • We just got the Wii disk today.  Anyone know if ithe selection of movies is decent?

CA2MT, you can watch netflix movies online too.  It's not a huge selection but there are good ones somtimes.
  • I have watched many on my computer, it's just so much nicer on the tv :)

  • I love Netflix.  We watch all the old seasons of LOST, I've gotten into The Tudors....  And I love the kids stuff!  I have a 3 year old and a 5 year old at home, and they love Growing Up Creepie (from Discovery Kids).  And Fraggle Rock is on the Instant Stream, too!
  • I wish they had more on the instant stream.  I accidentally deleted an old episode of Hell's Kitchen before we got to watch it, and it wasn't available for instant stream.  We ended up finding it on YouTube (via PS3, natch), so the quality sucked and it was split up in strange places.  I think everything should be available for instant streaming.

  • I agree.  I watched The Other Boleyn Girl a few months ago on instant, and then I wanted to watch it last week with FI for "wedding research" and it's not on instant anymore!  So we started watching The Tudors.
  • I just heard about this, too.

Our Wii got stolen last summer when our place got broken in to, and I've been pushing to replace it.  DH has been saying we should get something else because of the netflix thing.  Now I win!
  • I got mine yesterday.  I love it!

  • Well, I just checked the mail and got my disc today!  The kids are all kinds of excited to be watching stuff on the TV without having to wait for us to hook up the computer!
  • That is good to know Miz...thanks!

  • NP.  I'm already loving this!  Hooking up the laptop was such a PITA.  We had to move the charger over, make sure the laptop didn't close while watching stuff, hook up an extra set of speakers so we could hear it, too much of a headache.  Now I know why my best friend always told me to get an XBOX because of the Netflix.  I just prefer my Wii.  Yay!
  • roku is that online streaming box (it does other things in addition to netflix but that is all I use it for).

I've been with netflix for a long time and while I wish they had more up their selection has improved drastically over the last year or so!
  • Is True Blood on instant???  I haven't seen it.  I'll have to check.
  • I'm old.  How do I know this?  I understand none of this conversation.  It all sounds v exciting though!
