Weight Watchers?

so i'm really stuck in between two dress sizes, and i'd really rather go down a size then go up. its not a big deal, because i am a small girl to begin with, but still in relation to where my weight is now in comparison to where it usually is, i weight more now than i ever did in the past 5 years. i'm 5'4 and weight around 135, but would probably be happier closer to 120. i am really horrible at losing weight and tend to not do well with anything unless its some sort of structured program... so im wondering has anyone used weight watchers? well, i have three questions really the first one is if anyone has used it and how did it work, and the second question is that are there any girls that use it just to lose a small amount like that, and the third is does anyone know any other simple and structured methods of weight loss i could follow otherwise?

I never used WW, but several of my friends have with good results. If you can be online a lot of the time, they have a good online program. But you have to also do other things (work out)...

Don't feel bad for asking!! I am totally willing to chat sizes, numbers, etc etc with you. I did it in college and I have been on it since Jan 5. PM me or email me at stephteebagy [at] gmail [dot] com

I have done it in the past and simply dont have the time right now otherwise I would.  With your numbers you can def join, I believe your goal needs to be at least 5 lbs below what you are currently and still within thier "healthy" range, for 5'4'' the lowest your could go would be around 118 I believe.  i loved weight watchers, my only complaint was after doing it on and off for 2 yrs I just felt like I was overthinking everything I ate.  But, I have lost around 20lbs on it and kept it off for about 3 yrs.

I am doing it. I did it last year and lost 23 lbs. I am on it again to lose 13 lbs that I gained back. The program is great but you really have to stick with it. I got off the program and gained it back. It is super easy to follow. Every food has a points value and you get a certain number of points per day that you should stay within. activity gives you points. You should check out a meeting and see if it is for you.

I went on it last year and lost about 12 lbs. It's a good program, you just need to be very diligent with tracking your points. The meetings were the best part for me, very supportive and helpful for getting tips. If you need structure, this is the program for you.

lol ok I am joining the group. I didn't know if it'd be weird to throw up my measurements!

Ok I cannot say enough GOOD things about WW!!! You DO need to stay on point to see results and you really do need to exercise but that is true for any program. January 5th I wrighed 141 pounds. I am 5 feet even. Since then, I have gotten down to 123. I want to loose around another 5! I am working with a trainer but thats to tone. I think cardio and WW has made the difference for me. I really love weight watchers and after the first month its not that hard. Your body adjusts to the new diet and it becomes more natural.

I think its a good program if you want to loose 5 pounds or 50.

I'm on it now, we do a weight watchers program at work. Last time I did it (2 yrs ago), I had a lot to lose and lost 35 lbs. Currently I've lost 7 lbs. in 5 weeks so that makes me happy. Our program lasts til June so itll follow us til the end of school.

If you need help changing your eating habits then I recommend it but for some people it doesn't work unless you match it with strong workouts.

thanks guys! i want to lose around 10 pounds. even a few less, i'd be happy. i'm not really an exerciser, i just could never imagine myself going to the gym, i wouldn't stick to it. i am going to start doing some intense treadmill-ing though every day because at least that is something i know i can do. but with the WW i figure thats something structured that i maybe CAN do. but is 10 pounds crazy to imagine losing over the span of 3 months?

10 lbs. in 3 months is totally do able IMO, but it'll require you to be active.

To lose 1 lb per week you'd have to eat 3,000 less calories than the previous week. Eventually it gets to the point where you can eat less and you'll have to burn the calories in order to lose the weight.

Even if its lightly jogging outside or doing 30 day shred for a few weeks, any activity will really help you lose those extra 10 lbs.

I'm doing Weight Watchers right now at work as well. I'm 5'4" and weighed 140 when I started. Over the past two months I've gradually gone down to 131. My goal is 126. I'm also doing the P90X workouts, to get lean.

My journey seems to be slow going, but it's helping me know that I can still go out, have fun and still lose and/or maintain a healthy weight. I did WW 4 years ago and lost the bulk (no pun intended) of my weight (from 157 to 132). After I got married, I got a little comfortable and my weight creeped back up to 140. But now I'm determined to keep it down.

I love this program because it teaches you how to eat healthy and to know what portion sizes look like. My mother did Nutri System and she lost weight, but after she got off the program, she gained it right back. When they send you prepackaged meals, I don't feel like it teaches you anything.

Good luck!! I'm sure you'll look great on your wedding day!

I've been on weight watchers in the past and am on it again to get rid of the extra 10 pounds I've gained since a foot surgery in November.  I use the Online tool, and don't attend the meetings.  The online is a great way to automatically track points and activity points.  I lost 15 pounds the first time, and I was able to keep it off cause WW helped me follow a new routine for food.  I would definitely recommend it!

I am a fan of jenny craig because its so structured and you lose weight healthy so you can keep it off.. i lost 40 lbs on jenny craig before and then years later started some meds that made me gain weight.. so now im back on jenny and ive lost 23 lbs since February.. you get the food from them all your meals and you just buy veggies on your own. That way theres no way for you to cheat because its so structured. and the food is awesome. i love all the meals and theres tons to choose from. :-)
