[QUOTE]Hey ladies. I'm annoyed b/c I just walked by our directors office and he has a new monitor that he put up facing the opposite direction of his monitor so if people are in the office they can see what's on his computer. Sure, that's a cool toy to have, but what about raises we haven't gotten in over 3 years? It's really hard to keep saying, "at least you have a job" when you see him buying toys every other week.

Don't you work in a medical office? How can he just buy things willy nilly?

[QUOTE]Is the Abs Diet low carb? Because I'll never be able to do low carb. Ever. EVER. I'm also planning on getting this book <clicky. I really think that I have a truly unhealthy relationship with food and I'd love to try to change that. Like when I'm craving a certain food, if I let myself have it, I swear it's how a heroin addict feels when they shoot up.

I totally feel this way too, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I hate diets. My favorite quote from Real Housewives of Atlanta was "I could be a size 2 but I'm fvcking hungry!" b/c I feel like it describes my life perfectly.

• Omg, I understand, TR. I cried multiple times while reading it. My SIL saw the movie (I told her to see it and then tell me if I should see it) and she said I should definitely stay away, because it was hard for her to watch certain parts. If it's hard for me, I'm going to have a nervous breakdown. So going off of what she says, and she knows me well, I'm not going to see the movie. And I'm OK with that.

I know right? A not for profit government grant funded program! I've always said from the moment I started here that he was mismanaging the moolah. He proves me right on the regular.
• Thanks LTB, I'll have to check that out. Is it a book you buy?

• Our friend is cooking dinner - pasta...yum. I am starving. H and I will be watching the 2 younger boys tonight while our friend attends a school function for the oldest.

Other than that, I have had an uneventful day. I decided I needed a break from the apt since H and I are getting the truck tomorrow. I am looking forward to going out to dinner with one of H's friends from work on Saturday evening.
• Can you buy the books in a bookstore or do you have to order them from the cheesy website and pay s&h?

As I'm typing this, my stomach is growling and I won't be home for dinner for 3.5 hours. And I only have about 700 calories left for the day and that will be dinner, damnit.

• With all this talk of diets and losing weight, if there is anything good to come out of the crap we have been going through the past week, I have lost some weight. I guess I just need to start lifting weights or something.

Because they assume women are desperate enough to pay more? Makes me want to buy it less.

Well New Rules of Lifting for Women is actually cheaper than the regular New Rules of Lifting, so maybe it evens out. I don't like the recipes that much though.
• I keep wanting to try NROL4W, but in our gym, the free weights section is soooo overcrowded you can't move. I can actually get a workout in by sticking to the machines and some of the bigger dumbbells. And I'm assuming NROL is more geared toward the heavier weights?

I haven't actually looked at the regular NROL, but the one for women is definitely geared towards higer weights. I've only been doing it for a week and a half, but I like it so far. That sucks that your gym is so crowded. I have one little area at the gym where I like to do everything and I get pretty territorial when other people are working out there.
• We live in downtown Baltimore, and there are a few gyms but there are just so many people in such a relatively small area. It's a big gym, but there are nights I wander around just trying to catch a machine open. Too many people. I'll have to look into NROL though.
