one of dh's co-workers offered up a giant bag of maternity clothing. i should have known better.
i have met this woman, and she is lovely and charming. however, she's also tiny, like christina on tough love couples tiny.
i got half a giant bag yesteday, and it's all size small or xsmall. there are five pairs of jeans -- all designer, all size 4 and under. the only pair of pants that fits is a pair of sweatpants, and y'all know i don't do sweatpants.
i had myself a good laugh and a nice hop around the bedroom as i greased up and tried to get into a tube skirt (i know). i'm keeping a few shirts, but everthing else is heading back to her with a grateful note and a box of cupcakes.
btw, why did no one tell me that all maternity pants are pull-ons? i would have been shopping at maternity stores a long time ago if i had known this glorious fact.
Re: clothing (br)
oh baconsmom, i know. maternity clothes and their shortcomings are only some of the things that make up your crown of thorns.
Very nice of her, but I'm sure you aren't the first chick to not be able to use them.
[QUOTE]Yes they do, BMom. At least most of my jeans/shorts had pockets. Not so much my work pants though. I will say that during the heat of the summer, all you will want to wear is a moo-moo with a fan stuck between your legs.

<div>I'll be moving to Houston over the summer - note to self - buy mumu, fan, and some straps.</div>
I have several maternity tops that shrunk and I'll never where them. (BTW, Motherhood Maternity stuff sucks - - never put their clothes in the dryer.) If you want them, you can have them. I'd say they are probably a size M to M/L now. They're all summer tops.
FWIW, I recommend looking around at consignment stores. Once Upon A Child has a fairly nice maternity section. Plenty of crap, but the occasional gem. And cheap. I also had a lot of luck at JC Penney, of all places. Again, nothing fabulous, but very passable pants, casual shirts, dress shirts, jeans, and even dresses, usually on sale for 40% off or more.
But they're damn expensive.
But comfy.
(although they fit funny. The ones i"m wearing today fit me a weeka go...and are falling down today)
And I got my best and least expensive clothes at JCPenney.
i'm at 4 mos, and i can no longer wear any of my normal pants.
loveshine, i hope you are asking for a rough estimate, not actual advice as to when you should switch over.
I like motherhood's clothes and haven't had any shrinkage problems, but then I dry my clothes on a line.
