Monday night!

Hi!!  What's up in the E house tonight?

Today was a Monday.  It went fairly quickly though, at least.

Re: Monday night!

  • Hi!  We're about to head out for dinner.  I'm starving.
  • Hello. I'm about to start working on a paper. I'm not excited.
  • Hey there. I didn't get nearly as much unpacking done as I would have liked. The problem is there's no room to put anything. Downsizing is the pits. Our spare room is filled to the brim with boxes and it's too overwhelming for me to go through them all myself. We're just going to have to do it this weekend.

I'm stuffed after a delicious meal of roast chicken, mashed cauliflower, and asparagus. Nom

  • I'm trying to make myself stay awake. I feel like I could fall asleep right now. Last night I didn't sleep that great so I want to make sure I sleep all the way through.

  • Hi! I was planning on going to kickboxing tonight, but since it's blizzard-ing outside, I'm staying in with a bowl of mac & cheese and watching The Voice.
  • MK - downsizing does kind of stink.  Hope you can get yourself organized.

Jill - I meant to work out when I got home tonight, but I was hungry, so I ate dinner instead and skipped the work out. :)
  • I love The Voice. FI is even kind of into it which is surprising. Blake is my favorite. We are recording it so we can FF commercials.

  • We're also not planning on being in this place longer than our year lease, so I really don't want to unpack everything just to repack it again in 10 or 11 months. But I also hate living among boxes. Sigh. Just have to suffer with it I guess.

  • I really hope our TV cooperates-we're just using rabbit ears at the moment to save money instead of using cable. I hope the weather doesn't make them go all wacky.
  • Our guest room is still covered with boxes. Some empty that we haven't taken to the dumpster and some still full.
  • I have moved every year for 5 years. It feels so good once everything is unpacked. But it is a pain. We have lived together since September and our garage is still full of all the stuff we need to get rid of.

  • We're in the process of saving for a downpayment for a house. I told H when we moved into our current apartment that I wasn't moving again unless it was into our own house. I hate moving so much, and we seem to accumulate more and more stuff each time we do it.
  • FI said we're not moving again until we buy a house which could be years from now. I hate apartments :[
  • We're planning on renting for a year or two in CO while we get settled and make sure we end up in the right area for us to stay for a LONG time.  I don't know if I will unpack all the way, or try to do with the minimum.
  • I hope this move (eek, less than 2 weeks!) is our last in many many years.
  • Good evening!

Sorry for those of you who are moving/getting ready to move.  I moved every year from 18-25, and then I moved in with H (then FI).  I never really thought I would live with somebody before getting married, but the thought of moving two more times before moving in with him literally made me cry.  It is so nice to be settled.

  • Moving in with FI was perfect timing. He proposed about 3 days before I had to turn in my intent to renew my lease or not. If he had waited a week I would have probably signed on for another year. I never thought I was move in with him before we were married but here we are.

  • Hello I am popping in- Monday was good. Work got busy and then I had personal training (I am dead) and I biked from my house to the gym which is about 6 miles and I had to bike home with a bunch of flowers for my mom on my bike.... and the dog just fell over... he is fine.

    Interesting day :D

  • I moved in with H about 6 months into our relationship (OMG- Suchawhorebag).  But by about 4 months in I was going home on my lunch hour to change out clothes from my "overnight" bag and it was March and my Christmas presents hadn't made it to my apartment yet cause I'd stopped at his on my way through Cleveland and left them there so it just seemed pointless to keep paying rent on 2 places.  It took us almost 7 years to get around to the I do's though.  Not sure if that would have been sooner if we weren't living together.
  • Spa - why did your dog fall over?
  • My birthday present from him never made it out of his house.  It was about 3 months before I officially moved in, but it just made more sense to live with him.  It was more stressful to try to maintain two places.

Haha, Loopy. I was a secretwhorebag because my family is very old fashioned and I chose to let them keep on believing what they wanted to. My parents didn't talk to me for a month after I told them. That was to tell me how bad I was. Then we didn't talk for about another 2 months.

  • He was jumping on his bone and slipped on the floor- I think I just heard a thud and looked over and he was on ground wagging his tail... O.o Now he is licking my face.

  • We "officially" moved in together when I transferred for college, but I slept over at his place almost every night the first year of school.. We were engaged by that point, but lived together for 2.5 years before our wedding.

<div>This was me too. My parents were weird about it, but pretty much the exact thing happened. They still tell me I live in sin etc.</div>

  • Hi everyone!  I guess I'm a whorebag too - FI and I moved in together after a year, and weren't engaged yet.  My mom was pretty upset, but I knew he was "the one" and (when she was being honest with herself) she did too, so she got over it pretty quick.

I'm in the process of applying for new jobs this week and it is SO.  NERVEWRACKING.  I'm developing an eye twitch.

Oh and also I want to smack the bride who is frittering way her parents' retirement account on her PPD and wants advice on how to ask her FILs to give her MORE money in the face right now, but I suspect I'm a little sensitive on that topic because my parents just had to go through their own retirement early after my dad had a serious medical emergency.  I can't stand the thought of where they'll be in five years - it'd be even more unbearable if I knew that my wedding was the cause of their troubles.

Yup. It's pretty much back to normal now but everyone just skirts around the topic.

Steph - I'm trying not to think about that girl. It just made me more upset after I kept thinking about it and reading the responses.

  • And Voice-watchers, the guy who just sang "House of the Rising Sun" is unbelievably fantastic.  I like lots of singers on this show, but this guy actually blew me away.

  • Ugh the work thing about cooking is having to clean up afterwards. I do not want to get up off the couch.

<div>I just cut a deal with my FI where I cook 100% of the time and he cleans 100% of the time.  I pretend I don't like cooking as much as I do, so he thinks it's a fair trade.  :-P</div>
