[QUOTE]I hate how so many people automatically peg fundraiser-type Jack and Jills as a Canadian thing.  There was a post last weekend that I read on Monday that was about things you hadn't heard of before TK and Brie said something along the lines of "those Canadian parties where they raise money for the wedding" (clearly not word for word, but you get the jist). I'm Canadian and I, too, had never heard of these until TK and I'm pretty sure the ones I have read about were posted by girls from the US.  Pretty sure they happen everywhere, not just Canada.

Flame Fest Friday. It's more accurate.

[QUOTE]I have a feeling this won't get by without being flamed no matter what the subject line, but I feel like in that poll previous that had the question "what knottie have you changed your opinion about" a lot of people said P2 just because her FI has cancer.  I am so sorry, P2, that you and Mark are going through that.  It sucks big time and you are definitely in my prayers.  I just don't think it's a reason to change your mind about someone's personality.  Personally, I like P2 and never had a problem with her before OR after Mark's diagnosis.

Um yah. This is definitely not why people say they've changed their opinion about me. When I first started posting here, I was a bit of a d-bag.

But for people like Coffer, Coco, and several others - they weren't here when I first started posting, I just didn't like them at the start, and made it pretty well-known. Truth be told, I still find some of them annoying.

My input for FFF - I think Ricks looks about 12 in her sig pic. This isn't bashing her appearance!

I also think that Arb (and now Salt - sorry) are over-reacting a bit to that. The OP said she just didn't want the azzhole to enjoy the cookies the way everyone else could. She wasn't trying to poison him or anything.

Andplusalso - every person I know with a nut allergy steers clear away from most home-made goodies, as you never know how clean or nut-free a kitchen is. If they weren't that anal about it, I think a person with a nut allergy would always ensure that he or she wasn't eating a cookie with nuts in it. In this case, if the guy ate one of these cookies, I'd totally blame HIM if he had an allergic reaction.

That makes it sound like you judge us for participating.  If you weren't passive agressively passing judgement by saying that, why post in this particular thread at all?  If you have nothing to say, don't say anything, not even a "I'm better than you all because I have nothing to say."

I think Wiki is wrong here. It's definitely known throughout the prairies as being a Manitoba thing...mostly referred to as "Socials".

Also - I'm not against them. They're FUN, and extremely traditional in some areas. It's not something the bride and groom plan and throw for themselves...

I am however, against socials for 25 wedding anniversaries - and refuse to go.

Do you understand the expression "throwing people under the bus"? We aren't sacrificing people here to get personal gain. There's a big difference between flaming someone and throwing them under the bus.

ricks, it's ok for you to have your own opinion about cew and her funnies.  I'm not really a fan of her style, but to each their own.  I think everyone gets tired of hearing the same thing over and over again.

Actually, I don't get a lot of the "humor" on this board these days.  A lot of it seems juvinille lovemeloveme, puke, vom, sex, loveme.  But I guess if people want to act like they are 12, whatever.

<div>Yeah I know that now. I didn't see the original post and the way that Kiki retold it sounded like whoever made the cookies was trying to get him to eat them so he would have a reaction. In which case it would be sneaky and awful to do to someone.  It's a completely different story if she just made them and he knew about the nuts and then couldn't have any.</div>
