In Response to Re: Any other lurkers out there? : haha, fair enough.  How about.... scampi?  because I'm craving shrimpies and caloric sauces:  olive oil to coat pan, toss chopped garlic and shrimp in and let them pink up, flip them over and salt and pepper them.  Toss (a lot of) mushrooms in and deglaze with vermouth.  Lower heat and simmer.  Add a glob of butter, lemon juice, parsley, oregano, red pepper flake and let the butter melt.  Toss, serve with pasta. nom.
Posted by chirpchirp
while tasty, scampi's boring.  It's been done to death.

Livermush is a Southern United States foodstuff composed of pig liver, head parts, and cornmeal.

How long have you lurked?since I joined, I think June-ish.

Favorite food? Chicken or TACO's

Care to share a yummy recipe with us?I have a delish recipe for Tortilla soup that taste just like Max & Erma's

1/4 cup butter OR margarine
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
3 cups chicken broth
1 cup milk
8 oz. Velveeta process cheese food - cubed
10 oz. can Ro*tel tomatoes and chilies
2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
1 tsp. cumin
1 tsp. chili powder
salt and pepper – to taste
flour tortillas – as needed, about 4 - 6
shredded Colby Jack cheese OR Mexican blend cheese – as needed

-In a pot, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook, stirring often, for 3 minutes.
-Slowly whisk in small amounts of chicken broth at a time, then whisk in milk.
-Reduce heat to low and stir in Velveeta cubes; stir until melted.
-Stir in Ro*Tel, chicken, and spices.
-Once soup is heated through, it is ready to serve at this point. However, if you wish to make tortilla strips, it can sit over low heat while they are made. Stir the soup occasionally.
-For tortilla strips, cut tortillas into strips and deep-fry in 350 degree vegetable or peanut oil until golden, then drain on cooling racks.
-Spoon a ladleful of soup into a bowl, add a handful of shredded cheese, then spoon another ladleful of soup over cheese. Sprinkle tortilla strips over top. Repeat for remaining servings.

alcohol + soup = rich and wonderful happiness
• It's very easy.  Quantity simply varies based on the size of your crockpot (I love putting things in the crockpot).

Stew beef - dredge in flour, brown in a pan on the stove (post-dredge).

Turnip, Parsnip, Carrots, Potatoes - peeled/cubed

Pearl Onions - peeled - carmalized in the oven with oil, sugar, salt, pepper

1 can/bottle Guiness (this is due to size of my crock)

1-2 Shots Jameson's (also to taste and size of crock)

Beef stock/broth if more liquid needed

Salt/pepper to taste

Layer ingredients in crock in this order bottom to top - turnip, potato, carrots, parsnip, beef, onions.  Add liquids - let sit in crock all day on low.  Doesn't matter how long it goes - it only gets better.
