Mandalay Bay...my perfect wedding!!!!

I have nothing bad to say about my experience with Mandalay Bay. Our wedding was absolutely perfect! Originally we were going to have our wedding at a cheesy chapel on the strip, then we were going to use Monte Carlo. But when we saw Mandalay's website & options, even though it was more money than the other ideas we had originally, it was WELL worth the money. Our wedding was classy, sophisticated, & above all we were very pleased with it as well as our guests. Our wedding coordinator Danielle Campanella was awesome and so pleasant. When planning a destination wedding there are fears that every bride has with details getting lost in translation, but I have to say my coordinator Danielle was always available to answer my questions, and her consistency set my heart at ease. I knew we were in good hands and I was absolutely right 'cos when the wedding day came and I finally got to meet her, everything was all set and ready to go, not a detail missed. Our photographer was amazing as well. I wish we could have afforded more photos rather than just getting the 24 pictures included in our package. But again, we were on a tight budget and had to make certain sacrifices. What I do like is we have the option to purchase more online at a more convenient time for us when we have more funds.
We had our reception at the Bayside Buffet which is the casino's buffet which was perfect for our party of 24 guests. Everyone enjoyed the food. Then later that night for the after party we went to the Mix Lounge in Mandalay which had the most spectacular views of the strip. It was a very classy place to enjoy a few cocktails and way more lowkey than a loud club.
We stayed in the V-Suite located in THEhotel. Again, great view of the strip from our room, clean, big sitting room and the bedroom was a great size as well. The bathroom had a huge tub & we even had a half bathroom in the sitting room area for guests to use.
I can't stress how much I would recommend Mandalay Bay for your wedding venue. You will not be disappointed!

Well at least all of you MB brides know that they are seriously trying to win back wedding business after all the crap they put other brides through. Just saying since they are going through all of this trouble to let us know how amazzzzzzing they are!!!

Nah, MB is too smart to post faux reviews. They're too big of an operation and they're well aware of how much of their business comes from this board and how much we montor their reputation. I'm calling this one as legit.

Seems like the message the OP is sending (whether directly or indirectly from MB) is that they want you to use their site's locations for your catering needs - basically, if you cater with them, it won't matter as much that you got bumped from the Vista suite b/c you'll be too busy enjoying all the wonderful eateries available at MB. At least that's what I'm reading into that vendor-plug...

I thought vendor at first, but the grammar, the wall o' text, the run-on sentences...my eyes are bleeding. If it's a vendor, I would stay away from MB.

Also, the insult to those who chose to get married in a "cheesey chapel on the strip" seems over the top even for a vendor.

I think it's Danielle herself who wrote this. And I'm not even shocked by the lack of grammar anymore... If I take the boards for example, I'm sure the majority of TN's posters are professionals that completed their education, still almost nobody knows how to use even the Saxon Genitive anymore. It's so bad that I find myself second guessing sometimes, after reading so many mistakes... recently I came across "ladie's first"....??? WTH!

The grammar and spelling issues on TK drive me crazy but the run on sentences and walls o' text? My head explodes...explodes I tell you!

My pet peeve used to be incorrect modifiers of gerunds but I have lowered my standards.

I don't know, if you did not know Vegas so much an opinion like that would maybe sway a decision (not necessarily to MB but away from the small chapels) and yes I was insulted when I read it! There are no cheesy weddings just different styles of weddings.

I don't thinkit is a vendor but maybe a vendor prompted post.

Someone posted about "cheesy" chapels the other day. I typed out what I said above but then I let it slide. I couldn't do it this time. If I was 14 I would just punch her and be done with it but sometimes you gotta be classy.

This is Ada Casanova, Director of the wedding chapel. I wanted to address this thread because I feel that the person who wrote this did not realize how this would be perceived and does not deserve to be judged and scorned.

As Many of you have heard, I am very involved with the knot blogs and check them regularly, to ensure I can provide my guests with an optimal experience.

Due to some negative reviews pertaining our suites and brides who are not getting married at the chapel, I have reached out to many of the brides on this board to ensure that we are aware of their concenrs.

The blog above was posted by a bride who just got married in our chapel and sent us a great letter. It is not " fake" or a vendor ploy. I am taking a proactive role in educating brides about our venue and requesting that all brides who have a positive experience let other brides know. In no way shape or form, would our venue post a false review.

I will post the email tomorrow which was sent by the bride. I am appalled that our venue would be misconceived for something as petty and unproffesional as posting a fake vendor review. However, given the circumstance, I can see how that could be concluded.

For those of you who are getting married with our venue, please feel freet to reach out to me, my contact information has been posted on blogs Please note, that I am happy to answer any questions or concerns, whether you are a bride with our venue or not.

I apologize for the post, as you can see, it is my first one, however, i do not think it is fair for Danielle and our bride to be judged without fault.

Ada, May I recommend reaching out to the brides that are concerned rather than prompting a first timer to post an absolutely glowing review? Yelp and Wedding Wire are a better venue for an out if nowhere this is the most perfect venue ever post. Usually these posts (first time, no pictures) are construed as plants. As you may know from monitoring TK as closely as you do, that these boards are all about relationships. One builds credibility as she posts. A one time review truly belongs in the vendor review section. Otherwise, it won't be taken seriously. If this bride is as happy as she purports to be. Have her come back with some pics, info about non-MB vendors and the details that these wedding porn addicts crave around here. As an aside, no one has ever questioned the beauty or classiness of the MB. The issue at hand is brides' being booted from their suites or receptions shut down early. Those are the issues that need to be directly addressed to the brides planning a MB event. Perhaps leave your contact info and those who would like additional guarantees can contact you directly. Posting emails from brides or pushing post and run reviews is simply going to get you banned. Talk to reservations and make sure that your guests are treated well and the glowing reviews will come. Oh, you may want to remind your glowing brides not to knock the chapels if choice of other brides. It truly diminishes everything else they say. Yours truly, The resident LV harpy

Ada, Thank you for your feedback. Nobody doubts how amazingly gorgeous Mandalay Bay is. I think all the worry comes from the DIY suite reception bride who does not use Mandalay Bays catering, therefore is not under the protection of a contract through Mandalay Bay for their reception. It's a big grey area that causes a lot of confusion and poses a risk.

Thank you both for your feedback. I am adressing these concerns with all respective areas of the hotel and have since finding the In-suite posts worked on not moving any couples from their suites.

I have also emailed our brides with information to post for any brides who have questions or concerns with our suites whether they are booked at MB or not.

Well this creates a sticky situation; technically the letter of the law around here is this thread should be deleted. At the very least, Ada, please do not post any emails from brides, etc. Most likely I'm going to have to delete all of your posts anyway if I don't remove the whole thread since thye're not fair to operators of other chapels on the strip who are also not allowed to post due to the no-vendor policy.

Behind the scenes, I'm going to do some investigation on how a six year old account came to be used for the initial post and if the powers that be say I should remove the thread or just prune and close.

In general, people on here are very good about sniffing out prompted reviews, vendor posts and anything in between since they all have a feel about them that is immediately obvious to anyone who's been here for a while, so it's not a good idea to try to promote in that manner.
