Poll: Hair accessories

I am having a hard time deciding what to do with my hair accessories. I'm not sold on the idea of a veil, but I'm afraid that I will wish I had worn one. I also want to wear a dogwood flower, either for the whole day, or at the reception. And yet, we found this really beautful headband that I love, similar to the picture. Any thoughts?

I think your wedding day is the one and only day you get to wear a veil so I am a big propenent of doing it. However, you don't have to wear it all day or for all pictures. Why not get one just for the ceremony? It does make you feel SO bridal

But that is just my two cents.

I chose "other combination", there are so many different styles of veils out there, and like Meaghan said, you don't have to wear it the whole day. I love the look of a stylish bidcage with a flower.

I am wearing a simple headband and a veil for the ceremony and then switching to a hair flower for the reception and leaving with a birdcage veil and a short dress haha. I liked all three looks so i'm doing it all! Make it work

I don't think you need a veil. It depends on your dress. My dress looks terrible with a veil...

I was on the same boat as you- I was not sold on the veil idea. I even ripped them off of my head everytime they tried to place one on me when I was wedding gown shopping. However, a few months back I woke up in a panic thinking- I have to wear a veil in order to get the feel bride effect. So now, I have decided to wear a veil to my ceremony only.

There are obviously other options as PPs stated if you are not sold on the idea at all.

I wore a veil for the ceremony only. I then had several hairpins put in when the veil came off.

I was very against doing a veil, until I tried one on at the store. Meghan is right, you only get one chance to wear a veil, and if you're even a little bit on the fence about it, you should go for it.

I'd go for the dogwood and the veil together, if possible.

Haha so I fell asleep last night before shutting my computer down, and the first thing I thought of when I woke up was oops I forgot to add the picture. Thanks for the replies, I think I will do a veil for the ceremony, not sure what else to add in. Although jonnysbride I like your idea of having all three!

I think your dress would look really pretty with an elbow length veil and a flower tucked in next to the comb. If you're worried about being "overwhelmed" by the veil or something, remember that they come in varying degrees of sheerness. You can get one that's sort of "barely there".

I like the idea of changing your look. Veil for the ceremony, headband and/or flowers for reception. Or maybe you could do one for your getaway outfit or even to wear for the rehearsal...? There are tons of styles of veils and I agree it makes you feel so bridal. It's something totally unique to being a bride--when else do you get to wear a veil? (hahaha...as I typed that last bit flashbacks of wearing a little crowned veil at my first communion came back--but it's so different when you're 8

I was on the fence as well. My grandmother (who raised me) was actually a strong proponent of me NOT wearing one. Well, about a month ago we went dress shopping for the first time, and they put a veil on me...well she burst out into tears...and that was that: I'm wearing a veil.

I think it's definitely a personal decision, but seeing her reaction, I just knew that that's what I had to do, what I wanted to do. I'm only going to wear it for the ceremony, and I'll have a flower in my hair for the reception :-)
