What does effaced mean?

It refers to the thinning and receding of the cervix. So Tide's is 90% on the way to being fully effaced = baby ready.

The only thing I know is when that bit has to be cut. It scares the bejeezus out of me. I dont know what its called but im terrified of ever having to do that.

Most I think. The cut is easier to heal from than the tear.

I heard that most women don't even realize that they had that done until later. I imagine that is the least of the things on your mind as youre pushing out a huge baby.

I dont think every woman has to, but its very common... and terrifying. I have heard you dont even feel it though so i think it just hurts to think about.

I think Night just explained it. Also, I've heard there are different levels of how much they have to cut (if they have to at all). Like level 4 is the worst and not fun to heal from. Good times.
