What's the longest dry spell you've had (not while you were single, when you were married/had a SO)?

1. I would say probably a week and a half to two weeks.

2. Probably a month.

3. J was on a month long hunting trip in Colorado.

1. Probably like 2 or 3 weeks.

2. It was a while ... like months.

3. Depression. We were both on Zoloft and things weren't so good with us. It's kind of weird, once you get past a certain point it's difficult to even think about having sex again -- it just becomes this big elephant in the room that no one wants to talk about.

Thankfully that was like 5 years ago and all is much better now!

I don't remember.. Probably just busy/period/no BC/tired/ time schedules.. Any variation of these excuses

It's probably pretty equal for us. I used to almost never initiate and he asked me to try, so I have. I always like sex (a lot) when we have it, but deciding to do it and going for it is never my strong suit, so I admit I plan it in my head. It's not a set schedule, but I'll think "Oh it's been a little bit; we should have sex tonight."

It used to be a week, but because of our relationship problems earlier this year, now I'd say 2-3 weeks.

Oh man, I want to say it was 5-6 weeks? Sexy time probably happened once in about 2 months

We were working out our problems and I never felt in the mood. I pretty much had to get liquored up first for a long time. Things are getting back to normal. Can I talk about BJs? Until last week a BJ hadn't happened since November. I guess this whole poll is TMI, so there ya go.

What was the reason? Deployment, pg/postpartum, something else? We don't live together and basically only see each other on weekends. Last Christmas we spent the long weekend (Christmas and New Years were on Sundays last year) with my parents and then New Years weekend with FI's parents... no sexy time at our parents' houses.

He was living several hours away in a one bedroom apartment with a roommate, our house had just burned down and his father died.

about a month, maybe 1.5. I try to block it out

What was the reason? Deployment, pg/postpartum, something else?

It was a combination of being sick and then my BC was all screwed up, and since we don't use condoms, we didn't want to take the risk

Who Initiates?

I usually do, which honestly pisses me off sometimes, but FI has been getting better at it. We have a 10 year age difference and I have a MUCH higher sex drive, so it's taken some getting used to.

Not long, but for about 6 months I just got duty sex that he gave me because he had to not because he wanted to. It was worse in some ways than not having any.

What was the reason? Deployment, pg/postpartum, something else?

His health. He had untreated sleep apnea and had no drive.

Who usually initiates? For us, J probably does more often but lately we have become more equal on who is the one to start it up.

Until the past two months I usually did. I have the sex drive of a 14 year old boy. Now, not so much. My job has changed some of our dynamics.

Our schedules never match up. It's always difficult to find time when we're both home AND in the mood.

Him. My BC pills have made my sex drive almost non-existant.

I'm curious to see if my sex drive changes once I get off the pill and get the mirena. I hope so. I've been on the pill for SO LONG that I have no idea what my sex drive is like without it.

H has always initiated more. It started to bother him a while back, so I started trying to do so more. Lately, it's almost always him, because our problems killed my sex drive. It's coming back, but I often have to plan it or keep it in my mind all day to get myself in the mood.

Ummm... duty sex? WTF. Steffi, did you guilt him into it?! That is messed up.

Dry Spell two to three weeks. Longest dry spell was 3 months Why? I had cryosurgery for abnormal cervical cells due to high risk HPV virus. Doc said no sex 6 to 8 weeks after and at 8 weeks it was still really painful so we waited an additional 4 weeks.

I wonder that too, Adamar. I went on the pill like 2 weeks after starting to have sex, so I've never had it much without the pill. I wonder if it will skyrocket. Which is a scary thought because its already rather healthy.

Who initiates? Him, really. Probably 1 out of every 10 times I will. I've been off BC now for 3 months so I'm hoping I can pick up some steam.

<div>I was wondering this as well. I'm surprised it seems to kill so many people's sex drives. I've been on it for well over half my life at this point, so I have no idea where the drive would be about it; and like you said, I already feel it's quite healthy. We're planning on going off BC next year, so we'll see what happens. I should warn FI that he should be prepared ;)</div>

Stage, we get into swings too - I'm way more apt to want booty if we've recently had the sex. If it's been a few days I'm like "eh, I'm good" but if I had it last night? I want it again. He hasn't exactly figured out that he needs to give into these whims yet lol
