Evening thread, I have missed you my pretties

Hello ladies, I have been so hit or miss around here lately.  Things are starting to move much faster than I like in my world.  Makes me want to dig my heels in, grab ahold of the arms of the clock and just stop time altogether, if only for an evening.

FI is working again tonight.  I have seen him for a total of 20 minutes since last Wednesday morning, even though we live in the same house.  Yikers are schedules have been wackadoodle.

What is up for each of you tonight?  I am finishing my first beer and we will see what gets done after that.

  • Hi Ski!

Hope you and Mr. Ski get some quality time soon!

I'm about to leave for an audition and it's pouring rain out and there's an accident on all three of the logical routes to the theatre.  ugh.
  • I'm still pretty new around here... Today was hell at work and for the past few weeks I've been staying in the building and working, which is stupid. So, I'm leaving and going to work from home where I can at least do some laundry and neaten up the house while I work.

Waiting on rush hour to clear and the rain to pass over the highway home before I leave!

  • Hi.

I've also been MIA lately.  DH is OOT.  Chef is driving me crazy.  I think I need a drink

sorry you haven't been able to see your FI lately.  Been there, done that.  Remember this too will end.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

If it's raining as much in your corner of the state as it is over here you might want to consider going out in a rowboat!

  • Steffi, what part of NC do you live in?
  • Oooh, Eags, how was the hair trial?
  • hi ladies!  I'm waiting to see if H will make it home for dinner.  Most likely he will not.  Now I'm just dreading going to work tomorrow.  I wish I had more in savings and could open my little shop now.  I'm done with this nursing thing.

I work in Winston Salem and have a house I lease in Pinnacle that we're moving out of next month and a house we own in Cherryville that we're moving back into next month.

The commute into Winston is going to be killer, but I'm supposed to be able to work from home 2 or 3 days a week to make it bearable.

<div>I don't know where those other places are, so I can't sympathize on the commute!  I can see the traffic jam you're avoiding as I stalk NC DOT to see if I-40 has reopened yet though.</div>
  • Eagles, love the hair! Looks like you have a lot of it! I'm actually surprised you even posted those ;)

I'm here for a bit, waiting for FI to get finished with his bar class. Today hasn't been my day. First, I found out that it would cost $700 to fill my presctription without insurance, and second, that it's going to rain tomorrow and now I have no idea what to do about our engagement pictures since they were supposed to be outside.

I drive 52 north towards Mt Airy to go home right now. I hate 52 with a passion! And Cherryville is a little southwest of Hickory.

My farm I lease is at the base of Pilot Mountain bordering the state park.

  • I love your hair Eagles. I didn't realize it was so blonde, or at least it looks lighter than I thought in those pictures. Very nice.

  • Pretty Eagles!  And I love your dress (I didn't get to tell you when you AWed)!
  • Shore was really good, we had a beautiful weekend and using the house really worked out so much better than hotel rooms would have. Too bad the good weather couldn't continue into tomorrow. I did get a sunburn yesterday (oops) and though I've been moisturizing obsessively and most of it has faded to a tan, some of it is still red and my left arm is peeling. So really, I'm in good shape for these pictures tomorrow.

  • ooh a bride moment.  I have been having some of those.  Some great fun and other oh shiiiit!

Very close Eagles, so close.  My vacation with my sisters starts the Friday prior, so I have a countdown of 17 days till I see them.  Then is another 5 days till the wedding.  I can not wait to be on the river for 17 days.
In Response to Re: Evening thread, I have missed you my pretties : Photoshop.  If it doesn't actively rain during your pictures, you could still get some great shots.  Is your prescription generic? Thank you Mica!
    Posted by EaglesBride2012
Nope, the generic doesn't work for me at all, which is a shame, since I have stock piles of it. I need the name brand and I need the highest dose.

I'm definitely hoping the photographer touches up the photos a bit because along with my skin peeling issues, FI woke up with a few pimples this morning.

I'm not sure if we're going to try to find indoor locations or postpone. I'd rather not postpone though.

  • EAGLES IS SO PRETTY!!!!

Ok so I haz a question. I'm doing allergy testing on Thursday and therfore cannot be on any oral antihistamines. I'm apparently having an allergic reaction to something and my palms, the back of my hands, my upper arms, and part of my legs are itching. I'm also have a severe reaciton to skeeter bites that may or may not be causing the itchiness in my extremities.

ANYWAYS, does anyone have any suggestions on natural remedies to help alleviate the itching? I got into the shower and turned it as hot as I could stand it and that helped for about 10 minutes. Topical stuff like benadryl and calamine lotion are a waste.

UGH. Thursday cannot come fast enough.
Thank you!  When my hair is down, it falls a little below my shoulders, but Angel's right, there is a TON of it.  I love it.  After it was all done up and I had the veil in, I felt like a bride for the first time.  :)   Ski, you're getting super close! Ange, how was the shore?
    Posted by EaglesBride2012
I wonder if I have too much hair to do something like that?

  • Eagles, your hair looks just lovely!
    Anniversary
  • Birdie,

Oatmeal bath.  Aveeno has some good products.  Recommended for kids with Chicken Pox so it should work for you.

  • Eagles, love your hair! Is it lots of pinned curls or is some of it braided?

  • Birdie, I don't have any suggestions, but that sounds really miserable. I hope it gets at least a little better before Thursday, 2 more days of itchyness sounds awful.

    What about witch hazel?

Or teething gel that will numb the area?

  • Birdie I'm sorry you're having troubles and I hope they figure it out soon. Have you tried putting ice on the area?

  • Hello!
I'm about to start cooking dinner. H probably won't be home for an hour, but I have had nothing but popcorn and peanuts since breakfast today. Gr.

  • Cool bath, Birdie.  And ice packs to the worst areas, just to bring down the swelling.
