[QUOTE]Is there anyway you can stick her in a box and mail it, a la garfield?? I am truly blessed my MIL lives 3 hrs away and doesnt know how to drive a car and never phones the house.

Yeah, I thank some kind of deity every other day that my FMIL lives 3,000 miles away. Oh, and my parents do too!

FI is lucky in the in-law front, though. My mom is a little crazy, but again, she lives 3,000 miles away and she ADORES him. He gets 4 in-laws when he marries me, though, since my parents are divorced.

  • mrs.jesse, it still doesn't change the fact that we can't exactly go out and buy a new bed, box springs, and mattress right now. I mean heck, I'll give her the bed back when we can, but we don't really have a choice. And the bed is as old as FI, so I still don't really see her point.

  • She's doing it to be a heifer and to hold out hopes that her little boy will someday be sleeping there again, it sounds like.

Beautiful picture!!!  You look so pretty!
  • Thanks ohwhy :)

  • You COULD TRY answering the phone once in awhile!!!!111!!!

I'm sorry hon :( I always think FMIL is awful until I hear your stories and then realize that she's only sorta crazy.

  • Umm, I'm with jesse. It IS her bed. I don't think people should automatically expect furniture that they've always lived with just because the parents don't need it anymore. It's not her fault you guys haven't bought one.

Other than that, yeah, she sounds crazy.

  • Ugh.

I think I'm going to start a club.  Maybe we need to have "Name The Latest Crazy Thing Your MIL Did Thursdays"
  • tlv, that's totally fine, and if she had let us know she didn't want us to take the bed a little sooner, we would have budgeted to buy a bed. But we've been talking about taking the bed for a while now, and I had even called her one day to ask her what size the mattress was so we could register for sheets and stuff.

  • Wow. Why does she think it's okay to go through your stuff? And to ask specifically about how much $ you spent is none of her business.

LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOO too funny. I think you gave her a good response. let her son deal with her snooping a$$
  • Maybe she would let you switch your single bed for the bed he used at her house?

  • Hm that's an interesting idea bri. At this point, I've just decided to let it go and not deal with it. I have my twin already moved into our place, I've got somewhere to sleep regardless ;)

  • I do agree with the others- it IS her bed. It's highly insulting that she wants to keep it in the hopes that he'll have fights with you and come back to her, but nonetheless, it is her bed and she has a right to be petty with it as she sees fit.

I guess you and your H may have to be a little squishy on your twin for the next little while!
