  • Julez, it's true! You can see your reflection in my hair. ;)

  • Can I be in a clique? I don't want to sit at a lunch table by myself reading a physics textbook while you guys throw tater tots at me. Cry

  • Sarah# - you like avocados, right?  If so, bring your wallet on over and we'll start taking group clique pictures ;)

Heck, I'm happy to take this show on the road. I'll gladly do silly things while inebriated all up and down the eastern seaboard. :)

Yar! That would be wicked fun. ;) And now I'm a Boston pirate? Um, just roll with it, okay?

  • Beatles, you're a Boston pirate WITH really shiny hair.  Not all pirates can say that.
  • I need an eyepatch. I feel like a fraud. So um, Julez, do you have a kitty yet?

  • I have an eyepatch. A real pirate one too
  • We're going to an adoption event tomorrow (squeeeee - don't tell anyone I just did that)!  We went and got all the supplies tonight.  We got he/she the cutest little collar. I can't wait!
  • Ooooh! Yay! I cant wait to see pics
  • OMG *silent squee* I am so excited for you! Do you know what kind you want? I would be terrible at an adoption event, because I'd want to take them all home.

    Roxy, I want that eyepatch.

  • Its red, it would look good with your hair. I also have a small treasure chest, message in a bottle and a large blingy ring for booty.
  • No, I was looking at pics of the kittens they have online but I don't know which ones will be there tomorrow.  They're all so adorable, though!
  • Aww, well good luck Julez! I have been itching to adopt another kitten so that Monkey has a friend to play with when we're away, but we can't afford it just yet. So I'll live vicariously through you and your little feline. Or "felion" as my mom would say in her accent. It's adorable.

Roxy, that sounds great! Though I think I've got enough booty, trust me. ;)

  • Yes, when we first started dating we went to an amazing pirate store in SF.
  • Roxy-late to the game but if you come to NYC can you take me shopping and pick me out clothes?  I love all your clothes!

  • Cute, that sounds like fun! I'm kinda tickled at how pirates have been appropriated into this cute and kitschy thing, when they were actually cutthroat killers and pillagers. I'll take it though, because it's really fun to talk with a pirate accent.

  • Aww Jamie, Thanks! Sure! Truthfully I kind of suck at it. I can pick cute dresses easily but anything more than that, I'm not so great at. I wish I could pull together individual pieces better to make cute outfis. I always forget to accesorize.

It was a really cool store, but yea, pirates have lost their scare.

  • We can play Knottie what not to wear minus the 5000 dollar thing!

  • It would be so much easier with the $5,000 though. I wish :(

  • Well, I'll go ahead and respond, though I suspect this thread is dead.  Anyway, I think what's different about the clique thing now is, it's so much more in your face than it has been before.  And, if you think about it, people who list me in a clique do so with other people who have been around as long as I have, so that's kind of... obvious, I guess.  It kind of makes sense for us to be more likely to respond to each other in a familiar way as we've all known each other for at least a year (or more).

However, I don't think P2 or Nebb are part of cliques because, well, they just don't join. They're pretty independent.

The Bec, CEW, Heels, SS clique is very... I don't know how to say it without putting a negative spin on it, which I don't want to do. I guess I'll just stick with the very in your face aspect of it.
  • How are we in your face about it? I'm not being snarky, just genuinely curious.

    If you're not in a clique, it's because everyone pretty much likes you.  <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" />

Your not alone.  I'm right there with you.

To answer the question - yes I think there are some 'cliques'.   I imagine through out the day there are some 'sidebar' conversations VIA offboards, FB, personal email, etc about people on the knot, which can be considered a clique-ish behavior.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
