Here I am

I havnt been around all day and that feels weird to me. Whats up??

I took my husband, dad and brothers to a fort from 1812 today and there was a big old school military show of cannons and gunfire and it was so super awesome. We had a blast and then I made amazing steaks for dinner.

Today was good. Went to 1 year olds party earlier and then dinner for my grandfathers 88th birthday.

My nieces first birthday party is tomorrow.

The fort sounds fun! I love visiting historical sites like that Nebb.

mine has been a bit lame all around- although H and I did buy a new duvet set for our bedroom... White with a green detailing around the edges. Its pretty and makes me think of our honeymoon in Cabo...

other than that- I got my bangs trimmed and the new stylist did terrible and I had to fix it myself.
Now- I am sitting at home making deposition transcripts for trial (I am a law clerk, working while in law school)...

I sang the bedroom intruder song atleast 3 times today, it was amazing.

I HATE when the hair dresser messes up my hair. Im not tottally pleased with my last hair cut. I got "lots of layers" and my hair looks no better afterwards than it did beforehand.

Hello! Glad to hear your family adventure was fun!

Nothing exciting here; FI and I put together our new bed this morning! And then cleaned a lot. I have too many books and pens and crayons and crap.

ugh yea so annoying right? I mean how hard is it to trim side bangs? She trimmed them a bit. and even though I asked her twice to make sure they blended with my layers she just didnt get it. That's what I get.. my normal fabulous hair dresser was on vacation. Amazingly.. I didnt screw it up when I fixed it. H was fascinated when I pulled out the scissors. He was convinced I was going to destroy my head.

My family made fun me of really bad tonight when I pointed out that I need to be home by 8pm next weekend for the emmys. We are going to a bbq at my aunts next weekend in toronto and I want to leave at 6:30 to get home for the emmys and they dont "get it". Mad men is a HUGE deal to me, and theyre nominated 15 times. Reading about it later just isnt going to cut it, I need to see it in real time.

Yeah, the problem is my brother hasnt seen that side of the family in like 2 years so he thinks visiting is more important than the emmys and he is driving. I am trying to takl my aunt into letting us visit earlier.

I wasn't really worried about it, just happy that it went over well...FI still isn't home from his parents though (we drove separately), which is weird but whatever, when he gets home I can find out what his parents thought!

I haven't gotten on the Mad Men bandwagon, we didn't have cable for a while, and we got it back after the Season was already through (I think..) I'm going to try to catch up, because everyone always raves about it..

Nothing too exciting here. Two fashion shows here at the Mall where I work. Super loud, super creepy, super scammy.. Just irritating. FI gets home after midnight, which sucks..

Hello Nebb (and everyone else)

Today didn't end up sucking as much as I thought it would. I totally blew my diet because FI got groceries and brought home this delicious hot french bread that I just can't resist. My first dress fitting in on Monday, so I have to eat really clean tomorrow and Monday. I want to see a significant difference from the last time I tried it on.

Number, I'm glad no one died. Our parents won't meet until the day before the wedding. I hope there are no meltdowns with us either

I ALWAYS watch the emmys, golden globes, and oscars, I just like seeing them. I become invested in the shows/movies nominated and want to experience them winning. Not everyone will understand that, but i dont think its a bad thing that I feel that way. I KNOW that this year is elizabeth moss's year to win supporting actress, and I just NEED to see her win it. I need to.

We dont have tivo or the ability to pvr anything, its just not the same either, to be honest. I know it sounds weird but I HAVE to see it in real time, I just dont want to miss it, i never do. This is why I hate going places, I miss the things I enjoy and people think im weird for wanting to stay home.

I can catch most things on the internet afterwards, but award shows arent lik ethat. You have to catch them then or you cant find them after. Its just one of my things, it only happens 3 times a year too, its just unfortunate that it falls on the same weekend my aunt has scheduled a bbq.

If I do start watching it there, I will miss the end, I live an hour and a half away so there is goign to be a gap of time I will not be able to see any tv. Id rather laeve in time to catch it when it starts than leave after it already has.

Also, I bought FI this shirt to wear sometime. Maybe it's tacky and dumb, but it made me laugh.
