  • Well, until TK decides to unscrew itself (and I know that it's not me, because it disappears without me changing a single thing!)... here's what my new siggy is supposed to look like, for anyone who's interested:

  • Sami: Glad to hear about your pay coming through! Also, I still see your Jan siggy

Mel: I still see the Dec siggy but I love your new one!

  • My vent from the past 2 days. Sorry this is long XP from the month board

I went back to work yesterday and a girl I work with is driving me crazy! She's my age and also engaged. She's not getting married til August 2013 so she has PLENTY of time. All she does is talk about her wedding at work! I don't talk about mine because I'm only inviting my bosses and it's unprofessional.

Today she was complaining about dress shopping. She said she walked into a store or something and saw a girl bought her "ex-dress." Meaning she almost bought this dress and didn't but some other girl got it (it's not like she took the last one the girl just decided against it) She's a total daddy's girl and she told her dad about it and he was like I understand you're annoyed. How do you think I feel when I see others driving a Toyota Tundra? She said her dad got one recently but come on dude thousands are made others are gonna have it. Her friend/co-worker of ours asked me how many dresses I tried on. I said I bought the first dress I tried on but tried on about 10 total. The engaged girl was like oh so you're a first bride dress? I was like um yeah. They were both rude and snarky about it.

Then she was saying how was she competing with 3 other brides for her venue. I don't care you're engaged. Good for you but you don't need to talk about all the time or make comments about my weddin that I never talk about unless asked. My boss said I could start selling to other people's accounts for our renter's guide. She was like Katelyn has a wedding in June so she'll sell to your accounts if you don't. My friend told me the engaged girl and her friend looked at each other and rolled their eyes. It's just rude and annoying how they come in the office and don't work! We have huge quotas this month and next.

Today, the head boss of our paper had our meeting with us today. She said we have problems and they need to be addressed...some were losing accounts and others were professionalism. I told her I don't feel like there is enough professionalism in our office and too much socializing. I said yesterday I was working and people were in the office talking about weddings and things from break. If you're going to socialize don't be in the office. The girl and her friend got really defensive and made mean looks to me. Whatever it's true and other people socialize too much. This isn't gonna be a fun day in the office but it needed to be addressed

  • Hey guys. Sami, so glad everything worked out for you!

OK, heres my rant... so you know how the recruiter had asked us for the marriage cert. yesterday, being the deadline date to get him reviewed for the 18th? Well, if you didn't know, that's what happened yesterday. I have been trying to get some answers as to why our cert. isn't available yet, and it turns out that someone spilled coffee all over it, so on Dec. 30th the sent the pastor that married us an affidavit for him to sign, along with a $25 bill, because the license is basically not valid until this "duplicate" gets signed and the fee is paid. Thanks for letting US know about it, Orange County!!!!!! Soooo, it's in the pastors hands, now. I called him, he hasn't received anything yet. Hopefully today or tomorrow, and when he does, I will have to pick it up from him and hand deliver it to the county to make sure it gets there without any hiccups. When will this crap endddddd....
  • Mel and amh-
I haven't looked into steroid shots, but that sounds more like a fix that could be bad in the long run? Wouldn't it be better to just get surgery and be done with it? I'm not sure... Honestly I haven't been to a doctor to have it checked out, although I'm sure I should. I hate hospitals...... lol.
  • Thank you Amanda.  Fi is with me know. I thin fighting is coming from the fact that we are getting used to living in the same place. We've been long distance until last year, and now we are under the same roof.

  • I just want to move already. I know I'm a broken record about it. Now that the movers are booked we just have to find a place to live. I know that they give him 8 days of house hunting to look at apartments when he gets there, but now we're trying to decide if I'm going to go with him to SA on the 12th or whether the pets and I are going to head to my hometown and chill until he gets an apartment. On one hand, I really want to be able to see it before we get it this time, but that means kenneling the pets in SA until we find a place. Which I really don't want to do. And is another expense.

But if he goes on his own, that means I have to have a list of places ready and be able to just tell him where to go and what which apartments we want. Because neither of us will have internet (no laptops) and I don't have access at my grandmother's house where I'll be staying with the pets. Argh.

  • Also, mel.... wine.. I approve of your Siggy big time :] haha truuue that.

Div, I'm sorry :( That's so annoying. It sounds like you letting him find a place first would be your best option.. Make him take the camera and record video, as well as pics for you to see. I know that's not the same as seeing it yourself, but especially little video clips will give you a better idea.

I'm not sure about other individuals but with FI's back being herniated, they are hoping the shots will help relieve the pressure and allow the disc to almost self fix itself. They won't and don't want to do surgery on him since he is only 25. It's kind of like a personal choice almost.. do you want to do the surgery and possibly need another surgery to update the first one in 10 years (if there is fusing involved you always have the possibility of needing it refixed) or do you want to try a couple of shots that could possibly fix it.
I would really get it checked out soon, just because it could cause additional damage elsewhere ya know. I get hating hospitals.. but its probably best to get it checked out sooner than later and hopefully it isn't too bad where maybe some anti inflammitories could just be the answer.

    Ah, interesting.
I know that my FIL had his herniated disc rupture and it healed itself.. lol.. it basically pressed the "reset" button on it's own.
I don't want to do surgery at all.. If it were as simple as working out and keeping muscle on it, then I would be more than content (that's what I do with my knee that almost needed surgery, and I'm perfectly golden now!).
I know I know I Know... booo :] I will look into making an appointment............

It's frustrating, FI and I weren't long distance - but he was deployed for about 18 months total.. so it's definitely an adjustment getting used to them being around all the time and living together. Hang in there!

And CAB - That sucks! I can't believe that they didn't call you about that! I'd be pretty pissed! I hope your priest gets the paperwork soon and this can all be in the past.

  • FTL- I'm glad you approve :-) As far as the steroid shots, it's basically what amh said. They'll give you a shot into your back to stop the pain and inflammation and gives your back a chance to heal. 99% of docs I know will try the shots before even talking about surgery.

  • Okay, Okay, I have a rant.

I have been doing nothing but setting up BM appointments all evening. AND I'm not even wearing the dresses! Why can't my girls just find some dresses they liked, like I asked so I didn't have to do this. BLAH!

I had a really mean and snotty comment to make but I held back...
