Snarky Brides

Confessions? Vents? AWs?

Go here, because I'm bored.

AW:  Trooper has been a food finding machine this past week.  He and I are starting to get a groove together, and he's been hitting his targets like a champ.  We still have some work to do on false responses (he's been sitting on non-target bags to try to get a treat, sneaky bastard), but overall, he's earning his Super-Trooper nickname.

Re: Confessions? Vents? AWs?

  • I am super SAHW this week! Every day Scott has come home to a nice dinner, clean home and happy animals (well, except yesterday when he came home to a poopy sick cat).
Today I managed to paint the living room/dining room, add green color to all of the trim, hang up a bunch of pictures and unpack the LAST of the boxes! Whew...

I'm so glad you guys are syncing :) Is it becoming more and more worth the time away from Taryn?
  • Yay! I'm so glad that you have a dog that doesn't suck. :)

I don't know if this is an AW or confession or what, but I have been incredibly happy with my family life lately. I really think I have the perfect husband and Ben is just so much fun. I just feel very blessed.
  • And CEW has a penis.
  • I got invited to be a clothing rep for a very lucrative company. All I have to do is wear their clothes and tell people where they came from. Hey, free clothes and perhaps a commission.
I am still in shock and pretty freaking excited I was approached.
  • That's awesome Katie :)  Once you're done painting your house, you can come do mine, if you're bored.  I hope your kitty feels better :(

As far as the time away, its been a good experience, overall.  It helps a lot that I got to see her last weekend, and be reassured that she still remembers me.  DH and she have become quite close - she's saying Da-da now, and I am continually amazed by his ability and patience with her.  I thank him over and over again for taking care of her while I'm away, and his only response is, "you don't have to thank me; she's my daughter."

    Ha! I love you, Sco.
  • Cew that is just fantastic :)

Nebb, I am really really sorry :(
  • Oh Nebb, that sucks so hard. I'm so sorry. What a huge fucking disappointment for you both.
  • Cew - thats awesome :).  I'm glad that everything is going right for you, for now.

Meg - how does one get that job?

Nebb - oh no!  Is he going to still do the comic now that he's not getting paid?

Tide, that is fantastic, and Cew I'm so happy for you and your little family.

Confession:  are you ready?  I was going to start my own thread about this.  OK, remember the video that cew posted about the cat litter?  Well, we have three cats, and I was at the pet store, and well the litter was there.  It accidentally on purpose fell in to my cart.   So far, it's the Worlds Best Cat Litter!!1!1!!

I haven't tried it for dinner yet though.

Edited to add several inappropriate exclamation marks, as that seems to be the trend lately.
  • Nebb I'm sorry that blows.  I'd be really pissed and upset for your husband as well.

I am not sure entirely, but I got it because some one in my work network recommended me to their friend who is a buyer/relations director for the company. I just got freakin lucky I guess!
  • My mom has been sad about the wedding in the "I'm now loosing my only child" way.  I get it.  I'd be moving out this summer anyway, but this compounds it for my mom.  It's bringing me down, though, and I don't know how to tell her without hurting her feelings.  Also, if anyone has any suggestions for dealing with it, I'd greatly appreciate it.

That's fantastic. Let me know when you eat some. And I also want to know if it truly is the worlds best cat litter. Was it more expensive than the other litter?
  • It was more expensive, but so far massively worth the price.  We hardly smell it at all, and it's not dusty.  And flushable.   Note though, we have not <smelled> the used litter, and as I said, I haven't tasted it yet.

**hangs head in shame**  Looks like that damn heinous commerical worked.
  • vent- My mother has been driving me crazy. She's worse then a 5 yr old having a tantrum in a candy store. She's the adult but seriously no one would know this based on her actions/attitude. <when it comes to my niece and nephew, whom she barely talks to. They are 14 and 16, her comment on it is "they don't talk to me, why should I talk to them?" They haven't been in the same room in about 10 yrs and she says stuff like this when she's the grandma (the adult) and she should be trying to be the best grandma ever but she just ignores them. Or cocks an attitude if they say or do something out of her norm.

confession- I want to go through with back surgery, but I am scared as hell! I never had an IV up until last year, I never broke a bone, never had any surgery whatsoever. Of course the chances of having another surgery within 5 yrs are high.  (I guess this was a confession)

AW- I go home in 2days and although I'm dreading the drive. I can not wait to be back home, and to see my best friend, and her kids. I can't wait to get things straightened out, with medical, and college. It's going to be a few busy days but I'm excited.

I am really sorry to hear this is going on, but the tough love side of me wants you to know she is being really inappropriate here. I mean, I think her feelings are normal, but by acting on them enough to make you feel bad is just wrong. I would talk to her even if it is going to make her feel bad. Let her know how much you love her as a mother and that those feelings will never change. Let her know that you will never stop being her daughter either. Maybe make plans for monthly mother/daughter dates?
  • That does suck Nebb.  So sorry to hear that.  Stress!!
  • Jackie - they should pay me for the advertising that I did for them.
  • That sucks, Nebb. I know all about not getting paid for your hard work due to sales.

Katie, how is your kitty? Is she feeling better?

I'm in the middle of helping 2 of my brother's high school friends. They are having trouble with English summer classes and need someone to review their papers. little did I know helping would mean having to read 2 articles on boring sh!t first. But this is their first college class so I want them to do well.

  • What kind of litter is this?
  • No kidding!  And now I'm advertising too.

Tide, are you mesmerized by our ever-so-fascinating cat litter discussion.  How bored WERE you?

What are you having back surgery for? My husband had 3 in the past 1.5 years. And is looking at a 4th. But his case isn't normal. Good luck!
  • Jackie - having 7 cats myself, I'm more intrigued than anything.  I had to google it, and am currently debating whether or not it would be worth the increased price.

  • You have to watch the video about the cat litter!  Did you post that Cew?  I'm now envisioning an advertising team sitting around a table, and thinking, yes, lets make the commercial sooo insane that it'll get posted on youtube.  Brilliant!

    Best. System. Ever.
  • Seshat, she's doing much better today. Last night she destroyed some Blue Buffalo wet food, ate some dried Blue and a bit of tuna. Today she has been following me around like a little shadow and being her normal cat self.

Demon gets to poop in the cheap stuff, Tidy Cats for me. I used Worlds Best in our adoption center once and decided never to deal with it again. It's also a little too pricey for our household.
