Wedding Woes

Might have to push back the wedding date...AGAIN ):

I'm so incredibly stressed!!! Every venue around is completly booked and without a venue I can't really start on anything else. I'm going to see if I can get the place I really want on 11/11/11 since 9/24/11 isn't working out at all. 11/11 is also my birthday so it will have to be extra special. Problem is that I have to come up with a whole new set-up since I wanted the theme to be wild flowers and have the ceremony outdoors Yell  I'm already a bridezilla and the real planning hasn't even started yet!

Why not just see when venues are available before picking a date?

Because I won't go with a random venue. It's the only wedding I will ever have so it's going my way or not at all.

Not a random venue - contact the venues you like, ask when in the fall (since that seems to be your target season) they have a Saturday (or Sunday, if you're okay with that) free, and make that your date.

Yeah...I'm sure it'll be super easy to get a choice venue on 11/11/11.

Nope. That's not how it works in my book. I have an OCD thing with numbers, it's hard to explain.

Maybe the money would be better spent on therapy than a wedding at this point, then.

Your likely going to have to compromise either the date or the venue. Your emoticons are annoying and as someone who has true OCD, I don't appreciate you making light of my disorder.

I've been diagnosed with two forms of OCD thank you.

I thought this board was to come release frustration and woes?
Apparently it needs to be re-named since I do such and get people jumping down my throat.

Not getting your ideal venue on a beebeetastic day without putting in the work isn't a woe. If you wanted 11/11/11 and THE PERFECT LOCATION WITH ALL OF THE FLOWERS AND OTHER BUTTHURT THEMES, you should have started planning sooner.

    1. I don't really mind the venue just wanted one where the wedding could be outdoors but ALL are booked.

    2. I don't care about the flowers, decorations, etc. It's just going to be a pain re-thinking it all.

    3. Wow, if you don't want to hear people whine then maybe you should lurk a different board.

You want an outdoor November wedding (in Iowa) with a wildflower theme? Good luck with that.

Its going to be bad when you have children, you do know you can't always have exact dates, right?  If you want a dream venue, you have to get married when its avaliable. My DD is getting married on 9-10-11 and we had some problems finding exactly what we wanted.  BUT her FI is deployed, and that's when he can come home, not just because of some sort of wierd date thing.

Oh, silly me for not being able to read this cluster.

Even in late September, there aren't wildflowers around Iowa. Unless you count ditch weeds.

I pushed my wedding date back and back and back and back and then realized the only thing you need to get married are the two people getting married. Nothing more. Except maybe some clothes. If you show up to the courthouse naked the frown on that.

In the end we got married at a wonderful little non-denominational center, had roughly 50 guests actually show, had phenomenal food (some we made ourselves, some we had catered) and the people we loved there.

This may be your "one chance to have a wedding" but don't forget what a wedding is about - two people entering into marriage.
