Rustic Barn Reception Help in NJ/PA/NY Area?

Hi! I'm new here (well, I created an account awhile ago, but just got engaged on Christmas day!) My boy.... I mean, finance and I would like to get married in Sept. or early Oct. 2012- but the place I fell in love with is completely booked through 2013.... I've been googling my heart out for a very rustic barn to hold our reception in for about 175-200 people with a high ceiling and exposed beams :) I mean, it is a barn afterall.  Below is the link of the one I LOVED and lost.  Any suggestions within 2 hours of New Jersey (North or South) are welcome! And I come from a family with 5 girls, so budget is very limited... Thanks!!!

  • You can look at Farmstead in Andover.  It's a true venue but buit in a barn.  Not sure they can accomodate 200, though.
  • There's Bayonet farm in Holmdel not sure how large of a wedding they can accommodate though.. Hth
  • Second Cranbury Inn - great space!

  • Lake Valhalla Club doesn't look like a barn from the outside but does have a rustic feel to the inside. It has high celings exposed with dark beams. It also has glass windows that look out to a lake. Not sure if it's exactly what your looking for. www.lakevalhallaclub.com/
  • Thanks! If I had to do it in a restaurant the Cranbury Inn does look like a great choice- but I have a friend that's a caterer so I'm trying to find a place that I can bring him in to so I can save on that :) The bayonet farm looks like a possibility I think I would definitely need to see it in person (well I guess you need to see any venue in person) I live in Hunterdon county and there's huge beautiful red barns on every corner-now if only I could convince an owner to restore one for me in a few months ;)
  • Hi and welcome! I just wanted to say congrats... And that you should try posting this on one of the PA boards too. Good luck!
