My dog is not a puppy but he is hyper, and you can NOT have him. I asked him to be my valentine last night and he licked my face which took as affirmative.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Confessions : This is my mom's cat. Especially when you're trying to nap on the couch, or lie down after you've just eaten & he decides to jump onto your stomach and purr so loudly in your face you can't hear the TV... with an added dose of "OMG TOYS EVERYWHERE! PLAY WITH ME!!! SERIOUSLY, I'M GOING TO RUN AT FULL SPEED ALL THROUGH THE HOUSE AND STEAL ALL YOUR HAIR TIES!".

All this dog talk makes me really want one! I'd adopt a Sheltie in a heartbeat if I weren't allergic.

I feel guilty that Ozzie isn't very hyper anymore. I'm afraid our lack of excerising with him has led him to be lazy and overweight. I'm hoping things change when we move to a house with a fence in yard. He loves to run, but can't in our yard because we have to have him on a lead.

[QUOTE]Habs - what about just treating her to lunch and a spa day before she gives birth? You can ask a group of ffriends to get together to treat her. It's obviously not the same as throwing her a shower, but you can still do something just for her. After reading this thread, I really wish we had a balcony or roofdeck so I could at least plant SOMETHING in the event of a zombie or regular apocolypse (we're in an apartment). I can't even leave the window in the kitchen open to grow things on the window sill because we had some kind of animal eat through the screen and eat the nectarines and bag of flour I had sitting there when we were at work one day.

I actually don't think many newborns are cute, so don't feel bad. It takes a few months for them to grow into their faces and not be so alienish.

ETA: Just realized you said 1 one year old. I think my opinion still stands. :)

I confess that I feel like a jerk when I ask FI if he's worked out on any given day or will be, even though he told me to make sure he does. He's been really good up until last week when the excuses started piling up.

Man, you guys are making me wish that I had a garden so I could survive the zombie apocalypse that I am sure is coming as well. But I HATE worms so I would make a terrible gardener. Hunting's out of the question too, because I'm vegetarian. I guess I'm screwed when the apocalypse comes.

Also, my Halloween lights are still up on the front porch.

I picked my wedding date specifically so it would be before 12/20/12, just in case the apocolypse does hit...

Holly - something I've found that helps, and it seems obvious/duh, but when you figure out a workout schedule for yourself, just tell yourself that skipping a workout isn't an option. Most days you won't feel like it. Do it anyway. It isn't an option.

Confession: I had a B-list, and I don't see the big deal.

It's really hard, but I've found that I've had the most success when I manage to get into that mindset.

Holly, I don't know about your back situation, but I really like The New Rules of Lifting for Women. It gives a really clear workout plan that I found easy to follow. It's mostly lifting, but does include cardio as well. And it has nutrition advice (which I don't really agree with, but that's just me). It's something to look in to if you're cleared to lift weights.

Thought of another one. I confess that I'm really worried that our organist (my asshole ex boyfriend's dad) is going to ask me to come over to his house to listen to what he's working on for the wedding and I really don't want to do that. I've heard there's still a picture of us in their hallway...

Confession - I'm upset that FI has a close female friend.
• Options
Midge, I can't think of any reason why you would have to go to your organist's house.
• Options
Yeah, I should have mentioned it's completely irrational. I can just see him asking that.
• Options
Midge if he did ask that, I would just conveniently always be busy.

Do you go work out with him? If you don't, ask him to come with you and dno't take no for an answer! That's what FI and I do with eachother and it works great!

Sometimes but he has the luxury of not having a set time to be at work and does a lot of his workouts when I'm at work. He tried to get out of going once when we were both going and I would not let him and I felt like absolute crap but I still went for him. Plus with out living situation, it doesn't work out most of the time.

I don't really think it's your responsibility to make sure he works out. He's not a child. If he's going to be that stubborn about it, then let him do his own thing until he gets to the point where he wants to do it for himself. I look at it like quitting smoking - no one is going to quit for good until they want to do it for themselves.

Yaga- You should look into an Aerogarden. You can grow bunches of stuff indoors. We have 3 big ones and 2 small ones. We've got tomatoes, peppers, 9 types of herbs and flowers. Our basement looks like a greenhouse.

Confession: I want BIL out of our house, but I know I'd miss the built in dogsitter and the cooking he does.
