Meet and greet

Re: Meet and greet

  • Hello, ski2play reporting in.  I live in Western NY with my FI and our Golden Retriever Helmut.  I have two kids who are both in college.  We love to travel, snowmobile, and boat, boat, boat!  Cocktails are always in season, since it is always 5 o'clock somewhere.  I am a Program Administrator for a local hospital which means my duties include (but are not limited to) firefighting, waving a magic wand, reading my crystal ball, and recording historical data for future usage.  Fun stuff.

We are getting married July 4, 2012, at a castle on the river.  My daughter is my MOH and my son is walking me down the aisle and then standing next to his sister and I as my DOH (dude of honor).

Love hearing about all of you.  Thanks for sharing.  Laughing

<div>I totally bust out in tears during that song too.  I want to go see it in NYC before it goes off Broadway (which hopefully won't be anytime soon).  Idina and Kristen are the best!  Some guy posted Kristen's last show on YouTube, and I watch it at least once a week  </div><div>
I loved the Tudors, but then around Season 3, I couldn't take it any more. Not the inaccuracies, but the violence. Too gory for me to be able to watch!
    Posted by djhar
Confession?  When I was watching it through a second time (with H) I kept leaving the room during some of the really gruesome parts.  If you thought Season 3 was bad, be glad you missed Season 4.  There was one episode in particular that was really bad.

  • Hey everyone! Im Jess/flutta, Im 26 and getting married early this May. Im a paralegal and FI (Nate) is 28 and a mechanic. We met through church a looong time ago but didnt start dating until 2 years ago.

I dont post very much but I do spend a lot of time lurking on SB and E (minus WR posts).

I am obsessed with Netflix, and watch way too many shows, favorites being Weeds, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, The Big C, everything else. I also enjoy reading, wine, shopping, and all of the "with friends" games.
  • I think it is way too cool that you are getting married in a castle, Ski. Mainly because I also got married in what looks like a castle, anyway. ;)

We are talking about Wicked? I saw it here and was in the 5th row. It was fantastic.
Midge, I'm concerned that my church will eventually cut back on the orchestra too, as some of the members want to change the service to a more contemporary service.  I'm all for a comtemporary service on some levels, and not so much on others (like where it would put the orchestra).
    Posted by Holly4212011
We only got to play at Christmas and Easter, but I get to play a little more often because I'm also in choir and a lot of songs are easy to adapt/come with a flute part. The choir director stopped us because we weren't ever able to make the trumpets play more quietly. Obviously making them use mutes is out of the question. I feel really bad too because there's a 8th grader who plays the clarinet who they wouldn't let play with us until this year and now they're not doing it anymore. She was really excited. I think I'm going to find a piece and offer to play a duet with her. I feel bad for her because she was so excited.

We have two services, one traditional and one contemporary. I want to play with the band once on my flute but I'm too nervous to even ask. I'm a mess. I even have a book of contemporary worship songs, some of which I know they've done at church before.

Sorry about the novel, I'm a little passionate about music...

</div><div>The girl that played Elphaba the last two times I saw it (Anne Brummel) sounded EXACTLY like Idina, and I spent much of the first half (when I was in the balcony seats) trying to figure out if it was her or not because it was rumoured that her and Kristen make random appearances at shows.  FI didn't get what the big deal was (even after I explained it to him).  I probably would have flipped a shiit if it was Idina though.  I freaking love her.  I realized that it wasn't her, but Anne was still awesome.</div><div>

  • Kinda newb coming out to play!

I'm Kellie (28) married to H (28... turning 29 in a few weeks) and we live in RI. We met and started dating in high school when we were 15, but took the long way about and were just married in November. I used to lurk/infrequently post on my month board, but they were pretty BSC so I never really contributed. (Hey Koda - not sure how you manage to interact and put up with them! They were insane!) Now the wedding is over & the Nest kinda sucks, so I found my way here. So, hey all!

I'm an accountant, H is a firefighter. I love all things musical, like Glee & Smash. I also like Project Runway, Modern Family, Teen Mom, Storage Wars (when H is around), any rerun of Law & Order. I love to read, currently on a Jodi Piccoult kick. H got me a Nook for my birthday in September and I'm pretty much in love with it.

    K, that's all I got right now :)

Thank you! It was very unique when I saw it at the consignment shop. The color was labeled as "oyster" so it was kind of different looking than any other dress I tried on.
