Mine isn't really a AW thing... but I had to share! I had my first wedding nightmare last night!! EEK!!

It turns out I planned my wedding on a Tuesday (in my dream) and no one showed up... so I had to use bridesmaids that I found on the street... and I called my Grandmother (who is like my mom) to ask her if she was coming, and she accused me of only wanting her there so she will give us a present (which is TOTALLY not her at all). Then I went straight back to work the next day, because my honeymoon was cancelled because of hurricanes.

Ugh, please tell me these don't happen too much, lol. Anyone else them?

Hee, that's funny! I had a ton of them too and so did Ben. Totally normal.

I don't have much but I am looking forward to dinner at Pappas Bros. and a night at the Omni with Ben on Saturday for my birthday. Yesterday, I got the cutest necklace from my boss for Secretaries Day--it's called "Rockstar"--because I rock! I love it and am never taking it off. I should get my gift from my other boss tomorrow--he always combines by birthday and Secretaries Day but I don't mind because he is always so generous. Can't wait to see what it is!

I am also getting breakfast from the staff and a coconut cake from my co-worker tomorrow, mmmmm!

That nightmare was probably scary, but it sounds funny to think back on it?!? Hehe. I've had a few as well, one where my dress was something totally different than I what I bought (not sure what could've happened here) but I freaked because it didn't fit, and I was gonna have to wear those big clip thingies they use at the bridal salon to walk down the aisle.

We have a couples shower Saturday! I can't wait!

I had wedding nightmares, too

Stephie, that's so nice of your bosses. I wish our company would do more things for their assistants. Yesterday the admins (and myself) went out to lunch to celebrate "admin appreciation day" but paid for it ourselves since we knew our company wouldn't even think about doing something like that for us.

Yesterday I did yoga and this morning I got up and went to the gym and worked out hard...and tonight is a turbo kickboxing class that I almost died in last week. I'm excited to go again this week...but I'm nervous because it's just so exhausting.

Mariah I love TKB--I take it at the 24 on Harwood and it is seriously the hardest class I do. Sometimes it's all I can do to make it the whole hour.

I've put the deposit down for my cake at Candy Haven, and the deposit for my flowers.

Also I am under 200 days!!!! I think I am more excited about this than anything else.

OMG, yes...It's so packed in there and it gets so hot. I swear I thought I was going to pass out. And I'm so jealous of our instructor because he's just acting like it's no big deal, doesn't break a sweat, doesn't sound out of breath....and our "cool down" includes burpees. I thought, "oh hell no" when he was like, "alright, last minute! Let's finish it with burpees!!!" p-sha! I did about 2 and was like, "I'm done". I'm hoping to have better luck and staying power this time. Plus, half the time I was lost. I'm so used to Billy Blanks tae bo and this instructors combinations were similar so I'd start doing things by muscle memory and realize that I was doing Billy Blanks moves, not the moves our instructor was teaching. I'm sure the people behind me thought I was stupid.

Mariah do you take Benji's class? I take it on Tuesdays but I know he teaches others. I love him but he makes me feel like a complete failure. And yes it is soooo hot--I leave there completely drenched.

I FINALLY got a job!!!!! I'm sooo very excited. I start next week. (not a teaching job, for anyone who remembers that I've been looking) I got a county gov't job with great hours and GREAT benefits. I'm very pleased.

Also, hubs and I are going to look at a house today that I am super stoked about. I just have a feeling that it may be the one!

Brad is at a court thing today for his stolen bike. His bike was stolen from our apartment back in September by some guys from a chop shop in Terrell. The cops found Brad's bike along with about 50 other bikes, plus illegal guns and drugs. So Brad's up there today to prosecute against them (I think?). Anyways, he's not too happy about having to be there. He had gap insurance on the bike, so when it was stolen, State Farm paid the bike off and now they have the title. He's missing work today and isn't getting paid for the time he's off. All because of those stupid bike stealer guys!!!

I booked my last vendor for the wedding. I have everything from dress to cake done for the wedding. All I have left to do is finalize bridesmaid dresses, invitations, and MAU. I feel pretty good since our wedding is on Oct. 9.

Congrats on everyone's AW's!!

Its crunch time for me. I'm now on diet/workout overdrive for the next 30 days. Working out 6 days a week. I'm doubling up on classes (where it makes sense to do so) and not eating out at all. I've lost 3 pounds this week.

I'm also mailing all of our vendor payments today except for venue/caterer and DJ. It is a great feeling to write those checks.

Bonus I found out this week.. our venue has cake stands we can use. I can take back the materials we bought to make them and cross one more thing off the to-do list. Yea!

Congratulations to everyone on their AW's today!!

I had a wedding nightmare last week too, it was our wedding day and everyone forgot (including me...like that could ever happen!) and we didn't realize it until the next day, so everything was lost. I called our venue and they told us they had a really great party without us and the cake was tasty! LOL

My AW: I thought I was going to get a 1-3% raise this year because our industry has been hit pretty hard by the downtown, but I got a 15% raise!! I was floored and VERY relieved since even though FI (FINALLY) got a job, it was a pay cut from his old one.

Congrats, Allison!!

I just got my lab results from my annual physical and my cholesterol finally dropped below the threshold for high cholesterol. I've had high cholesterol since I was a toddler, so I'm guessing some component of it is genetic - but I'm glad to see that taking up running has had some measurable, positive effect.

I just met with a wedding photographer hoping he would at least let me assist him or be a second photographer at some weddings to get some experience...and instead he offered me basically my dream job!!! Not exactly 100% yet but if it works out I'll get to start shooting weddings at a decent price and get clients through his name. So, I wouldn't have to go through that struggling/beginning photographer phase! I'm so excited.

Thanks Bridget! Thankfully, my dress fits perfectly. I'm more stepping up my normal routine (and eating tons better) to lose a little weight and tone up for the honeymoon. I think I can lose about 10 more before the wedding. I'm not gonna kill myself to do it though, just be disciplined.

I love turbo kickboxing too! It is my new crack. This is totally cheesy, but I have teared up in there before because even six months ago I wouldn't have been able to make it through the class, but I can make it through the whole thing without taking breaks!

Also, our save the dates came in yesterday, and they look great! I can't wait to get them out next week

tiffany, i purposely bought my dress a size too small - crazy or motivation - i haven't decided yet!!!!!!!!!
i recently gained weight for various reasons, but now i'm back to my normal workout schedule and hoping it will just "melt" away before then!!! eating (thankfully) is not an issue with me, so there is one positive! like you, i want to to buff for my honeymoon!!!! i'm sure there will be many bikini shots on the beach and i'd like to show them off

Congrats to everyone's AWs! Almoyo- that's great! Steph-Happy Bday! Happy Admin's week to all admins. And Tiff- Wow! You are really motivating me right now.

Now I feel like I need to try Turbo Kickboxing! It sounds like a great workout. I had my first Zumba class last night and LOVED it! I've never sweat so much in a class! I'm hooked.

My veil is in and I get to pick it up and try it out tonight with my dress because this evening I have my FIRST FITTING! I'm ridiculously excited right now. Also, my first shower is on Saturday.

I'm in the process of addressing invites, so hopefully that will be an AW next week. I feel behind on that one! Asss in gear...

Oh... and llc- I loved, loved Wicked! Genius!

A couple AW's for me...

I found my wedding shoes at DSW today and they were able to locate them in the correct size at a different store... and my boss is going to pick them up for me!

I booked our honeymoon hotel - in Hawaii!

And, totally totally awesome, a friend of mine is using her frequent flyer miles to buy our tickets for the honeymoon! Woo hoO!
