Is there a night thread?

Re: Is there a night thread?

• Yay for napping, C.

Meg, they did that on my interview, too, except it was something with education.  I was really passionate about the topic and answered it, only to find out she thought it was moronic (and let me know through a series of annoyed/disbelieving looks and sighs).  Luckily, I had already been working in the school and already had glowing reviews from students and the admin, but it was so awkward and uncomfortable. I think that's why interviewing terrifies me.
• MK you are awesome. I just joined several ladies from my birth month board in a weight loss challenge. My goal is to lose 30lbs by my birthday on May 25th.

• I know a lot of banquet servers are paid by gratuity. So they won't make an hourly wage, that 20-24% gratuity from the event will be split among all of the servers after the event. They also get direct tips from clients and meeting planners. Banquet bartenders can make $40.00 the first hour, and $20.00 each additional hour after that, plus whatever tips left for them. As a captain I made $5.00 an hour + gratuity which resulted in check ranging from $16.00-$30.00 an hour, depending on business levels.

I should go back to serving.
AVS, I don't think I know much about you. Please tell. Where are you from? What is your wedding going to be like? Do you have a dress?
Posted by raypoppins
I'm from Ontario. In the cold north where people think I live in an igloo (serious, I have been asked this before). I'm hoping my wedding is fun. Its pretty informal and in July. And I dooo have a dress. I wasn't allowed to have pictures taken but heres a link.

• Ugh. I am having coworker problem drama too. A coteacher for the theater is really pushy and over bearing. I get it, shes older than me, but I can handle my kids. And they like me more. I don't trust her, and had a bad first impression of her. I tried to give a second chance, but she's an entitled 40 year old brat.

• Ugh Nicki, I'm sorry.

• I didn't mind working the check out (I did it for an entire shift once). I think I would've liked it more than produce.

When I was waitressing/bartending my wage was $8.90 an hour plus whatever tips I made.  Minimum wage is $10.25 here.

• That's great C! Doing things in a group certainly makes it more motivational for me.

Thanks ladies. My counselor said that talking is a way to cope with stress and I realized that I'm not around here all the time anymore, so I don't get to "talk" about things like I used to. I'm trying to call people more now, although I do wish I could be over here more.

Anyway,  I'm heading to bed. I'm off tomorrow, but I need to get my oil changed and I like to get there right when they open, which happens to be 7am. No sleeping in for me. I'll probably go work out after that, then run some errands.

• Beautiful dress AVS! Pick ups always remind me of Belle.

And when I went to europe people asked if I lived on a farm and rode a horse to school, so I understand.

• Thanks MK. I currently weigh 165 and feel that 30 pounds is doable but at the same time might be too much. I'm 5'7".

• Avs, its gorgeous!

....and, don't all Canadians live in igloos?
• speaking of calling people - i'm SO sorry i didn't get to chat with you yesterday, MK! We had to take the beetle to the shop ($450!!!!) and my phone was dying (I think I had 17% when you called) and i was waiting on a call from him and other people and I had no charger! I really wanted to chat! You up for tomorrow night?

135 seems really thin to me C. I weigh more than that and Im 5'5

ETA: but everyone carries their weight differently so its hard to say. However, you do not look like you could lose 30 pounds!

Thanks.

If we did, I'd be screwed. I tried making an igloo once and it collapsed on me.

• Youre a terrible canadian, AVS.

• So avs, I assume by "Avs" you mean Colorado Avalanche?  Or are there some Avs I don't know about?

If so, we might have a problem.  I'm a Red Wings fan, although honestly, I really only get into hockey once the playoffs start.
• Haha Ray- If I had a boy and girl I would give you one... alas I have 2 girls and they are sisters so I think Hedgie babies are not going to be in my future.

You don't commute on a horse, so don't judge her.

Sure she does! And she wears wranglers and boots and 10 gallon hats at all times.
• My new goal for this winter is to become an igloo making master.

• I would love to have a chin or a hedgie again. We had all sorts of animals when I was growing up, so my friends referred to my house as the petting zoo.

• lol Avs is for Colorado Avalanche. We can be friends next year when they take away our rivalry and put our teams in different conferences. :P

I ride a moose so take that!
