Re: Evening Eeners

  • Hello!

I'm relaxing watching some TV until H gets home.

My day was very blah and frusterating.

  • Hi MK!

I had a productive day. I bought my shoes for the wedding (yay!) and dropped off my dress for alterations (hence buying the shoes).

I also picked up a lemon on the way home. I'm going to try something new wiht my chicken tonight!
  • Poke-I love lemon chicken! We bake ours.

    Holly- Some people....

Holly considering you can get coffee for like $1.00 at some places I'd say yes.

I wandered over to TN today to check out the hubbub. I think it's funny they're freaking out over the format change because it looks almost EXACTLY like TK. One of them said it was too white? o_0??

  • Hello hello

There are 20  spin off threads from the open bar thread... x.x

I have been working long shifts this week, so I will be glad when the weekend comes! I am not looking forward to going to the gym tonight after work. On the plus side I lost 12 lbs this month.

Crash I love the sig pic :D

  • hey y'all!

I'm sitting here watching glee episodes while Shane cooks dinner. I feel like my head is totally full of snot. How does one small head have so much drainage?? WHERE DOES IT ALL COME FROM?!

On a happy note, we just bought our STL Cards vs Braves tickets for Saturday and Six Flags tickets for Sunday! Woot!

I'm trying to figure out what to make for Mother's Day brunch.  I'm in charge of dessert.  I'm thinking of making individual shortcakes and giving people the option of toppings.  Maybe strawberry-balsalmic something.  Or strawberry rhubarb topping.  Or blueberry nectarine topping.
  • Sparent-Thanks!

Holly- That's what I tell H about cigs. As a matter of fact I insisted he switch to a cheaper brand when we bought our house.

  • Crash - Its in the toaster oven now. I put lemon juice on it as well as some McCormick lemon herb spice thing I bought at target. I cut two thin slices of lemon and put it on top of the chicken. I'm really looking forward to it!

Holly - that annoys me. If you're broke but buying luxury items - at least own that a large portion of your money is going towards those items.

Sparent - I thought that was strange as well. Why so many??

[QUOTE]Yep Crash.  She's fussing that she's always broke, but her spouse buys $5 coffee every day - sometimes multiple times a day.  That's an easy expense to cut out, but it's not a "luxury item."  Uh, yeah it is.

<div>One $5 coffee, five days a week, is $1200 dollars a year. I sure don't spend $1200 dollars a year on single cups of coffee.</div><div>
</div><div>Probably because it's disgusting devil juice, but yeah, you get my drift.</div>
  • Mica - that sounds like an absolutely amazing idea. We're not doing anything fancy for Mothers Day. I'm just going to take my mom to Olive Garden.

Congrat on the weight loss Sparent!

Mica I think that sounds like a delicious dessert idea.

  • Poke, b/c apparently every situation is different, but instead of asking questions in the thread they feel the need to make a new one. Undecided

  • Crash - I thought it smelled really good. I am glad to hear someone else really likes it. I'm excited!

Any - BLASPHEMY! Actually, I'm not a huge fan of coffee. I like it, but I wouldn't pay $5 every single day for it.

I refuse to pay $5 for coffee.  That's ridiculous (unless it's spiked with alcohol).

    Yay for weight loss, spare!
  • I pay $4 for coffee, but I only allow myself that once a week. I make it at home the rest of the week with the tassimo.

  • Sparent - I totally didn't take in what you said about the weight loss. Congrats : )
  • Hey ladies! I just got home from work a bit ago.. it was my first full day with the new baby and my first full day in awhile with toddler, so it was really nice to be back, since it's my favorite job. The dad was talking to me when he got home and said that the mom may end up going back to work full time instead of part time, and they'd want me to come 5 days a week like I used to. That would be amazing, to only need one job again and to be working 5 days with my favorite kids instead of jumping all over the place. The whole reason I started working various nanny jobs was because that job went from full time to part time and since I loved the little girl too much to leave, I worked around it with other jobs. It would be less stressful to just take care of 2 kids 5 days a week than to watch 6 kids on varying days. Ok, that's long and probably boring, but I'm just really hoping that happens.

Any, I think disgusting devil juice is the perfect way to describe coffee.

Poke, let me know how your variation on your chicken works out... it's about time you try something new ;)

Thanks guys! I'm pretty excited :P

Any- I am with you on the coffee thing, but I do buy a Starbucks Refresher pretty much daily. It is their new energy drink. I get the strawberry lemonade. However it is $1.95, so not the $5.

I did realize I spend $50- on smoothies from the gym O.O

I don't actually have it back yet, mom is still on maternity leave for another 3 or 4 weeks, but she's in the hospital so they needed help. They need help tomorrow too, but unforunately I have to go to my other job.

ETA - You're right, I haven't tasted your chicken yet because I'm too lazy to make it ;)

  • It's nasty. I really wish I liked it, because I am a zombie in the mornings, but alas.

I was trying to find something to send my mom for mother's day, but I can't find anything that isn't ridiculously overpriced. I think I might just call her on Sunday, then wait until we go up in August,  and find her a bunch of nice cheeses and fancy crackers and toasts, and a good bottle of wine. She loves cheese and wine (who doesn't) so I think she'd like it. We owe her a big present as a thank you for the wedding too.
  • Oooh okay - well at least you have something too look forward to when your FI starts studying for the bar exam.
  • Hi everyone!

Today was a bit hectic...but our wedding photos dvd came in the mail today.  We had seen almost all of them on the photographers website but there were a few we hadn't seen....we just watched them all on our tv...which was pretty cool.
  • Any - that sounds like a really good plan. I have been in England for the past two Mothers Day's. All I did was send flowers - but to be fair that's pretty expensive. I usually get her lillies.
