We skipped it last week, right?

I flame Sarabella for causing such a ruckus when I 'had' to stay with my friend in the car. Because she's pregnant and can't go into a haunted house. And that her husband didn't want her in the car alone.

    I flame GildedIcon for her stupid post yesterday where she said we should stop traveling to Mexico because its too dangerous and "Turning off the tourism $$ will make them step up to the plate".

    Edit:: I forgot the thread name, "Does anyone travel to Mexico? Is so WHY???"

    I gotta say, it is dangerous there now, and not worth traveling to. unless you're flying over the border towns or something. my H's uncle was held at gunpoint in Nuevo Leon just a couple weeks ago, when he went to visit his mom.

    I get that. Beleive me I am no stranger to what is happening over there. The majority of my family lives in Monterrey and its pretty bad. However the whole country is not like that. We make frequent trips to Chiapas for business and its beautiful and the people couldn't be nicer. Read the thread. It was pretty crappy.

    I flame the people in that thread who came back with "well every single country in Latin America is dangerous, do you want us to just stop traveling anywhere?" Not every country in Latin America is the same. It's a big place. Try not to generalize quite so much.

    And Lala, I know there are dangerous spots, but you really wouldn't travel anywhere at all in Mexico right now? This poster was saying that no one should travel anywhere in Mexico because all of Mexico is just one cess pit of drugs, violence and corruption.

    if I could fly there, and not have to drive through the dangerous spots, then hell yeah I would travel to mexico! my H has wanted me to go to Paras forever now (it's in Nuevo Leon, his family had a ranch there), but it won't be any time soon. we would have to drive there. that's what I meant.

    And La2, she is smart. My dad just got back from Mexico City on Friday night (last week) - he's there a lot on business - and they went somewhere about three hours outside of MC and he said there were literally hundreds of troop carrying vehicles and  humvees with mounted rifles all over the place as soon as you got out of the city. And someone he was in Hanover with a few months ago was kidnapped there last month and the ones who went down this time had armed guards with them all this time. Apparently it's a lot worse than the news lets on.
