I'm going to post this now for anything Super Bowl related. Commercials, the National Anthem, half time show, etc.
I thought it was very interesting that Motorolla was basically saying that Apple's products were making us all drones with no personality. I also think that their tablet looked pretty awesome. I liked: VW Darth Vader. I hated: the Eminem commercials. I was disturbed by: the Doritos commercial where the guy sucked on the other guy's finger (and stole someone's pants later). I've seen it before but I was still disturbed by it.
AND, I hated that Quinn kissed Finn on "Glee".
Re: Super Bowl
I can't stand Glee. I tried very hard to watch it last night because a girl I know was an "extra" on that episode and I just couldn't make it through it. A similar thing has happened on multiple other occasions that I tried to watch. There. I said it.
[QUOTE]The VW Darth Vader commercial was hands down the best. Closely followed by the Doritos Dog. I can't stand Glee. It's okay, Tiffany. Some parts of last night's show were good, IMO, but some of it was not their best.
I can't believe Christina and her awful rendition of the National Anthem. Some of the commercials were hilarious and there were some that I was like um... really.
Oh and I don't watch Glee either.

What does everybody think about the Black Eye Peas? I thought the performance and show was great but the sound and the yelling was not. But wow on all those volunteers!
I was just glad to see an awesome big production again with a few surprises. They've been so "safe and boring" since the Janet Jackson incident.
People are being wayy to harsh IMO.
[QUOTE]I thought the halftime show was awesome, personally. While their performance wasn't spot on..... I've been to a concert at the Cowboys stadium and know that their sound system really sucks and I'm sure that was a big part of it. I agree! Hearing how everybody thought it sucked or was the worse perfomance. I thought it was great! I thought it was exciting with surprises and just a great show.
I don't like Glee, either. I don't get what is so great about it.

Ditto.
Also, the people of Arlington have been correcting everyone and anyone that the SB was going to be in Arlington, not Dallas. Yesterday, as Steve Eager pointed out, no one was correcting them when the disgruntled fans were shouting "Dallas sucks". I laughed at that one.

[QUOTE]I loved the halftime performance. I feel like a lot of people hated it so it's nice to see that there are some other people who got into it. I thought the lighted costumes were awesome and I thought the whole show was just really fun. I thought Christina singing the national anthem was bad. And not the fact that she messed up (I didn't even notice that until we rewatched it later) I just didn't like how her voice was all over the place. And I think that, yeah it sucks that she messed up the words but people make WAYYYYY too big of a deal out of it. This guy on FB was going on a rant and saying that she is "un-American" I just don't see the association between accidentally messing up a couple lines in the national anthem and being a good American. Oh and commercials, I liked the doritos ones!

I'm sure it was an accident, but she talked about singing it since she was six or seven. And Kidd Kraddick this morning played the sound check and it might have been worse than the aired performance.

[QUOTE]Did anyone see the Chevy commercial with access to facebook? Seriously?

<div>I got pretty sick of the Chevy Cruz commercials during the game and Glee</div>

THIS!!!
(hardcore Gleek)
We really didn't watch much of the game (just while we went to enjoy tasty food with my family) - 2nd Quarter & Halftime. (we aren't big sports fans...)
I saw some cute commercials - I liked the Budweiser wild-west one (Tiny Dancer)... and I thought the Detroit/Chrysler/Eminem ad was cool. Oh, and there was a flower ad where the guy wrote a note that said something about a chick's rack... I thought that was hilarious!
I didn't hear Christina til after the fact - here are my thoughts:
-I have sung the National Anthem at a sporting event a couple times (roller derby) and it is TERRIFYING - so a little benefit of the doubt here...
-However, being one of the biggest sports events of the year, and being a pro who has done this many times before, it's hard to cut her too much slack
-Also - I don't mind some minor embelishments, BUT the song is pretty (and actually fairly musically complicated) as it is - overdoing it and changing the melody really annoys me

They were high school drill teams that were chosen. But even though they were chosen they paid 650/person to perform in the show. (FI's cousin goes to one of the schools that was chosen and has alot of friends on drill team)
I didn't think much of the performance part of haf time..Fergie just sounded like she was yelling the whole time..not even singing louder than everyone else...just flat out yelling.
The National Anthem...I didn't notice until after that she had messed up the words...but I don't think alot of people could the way she sang it. Even before I knew she messed it up I was not a fan of her "rendition".
I could understand the nervous part..but she sings in front of people for a living! Alot of people are saying "oh it's not that big a deal, she only missed a line". It's the National Anthem...it's a big deal.
I'm just curious how many people that think Fergie was awful have been on the field of a sold out football event?
I performed at the Orange Bowl championship game when I was in high school and the crowd noise in the open stadium physically shakes your body to the core and you can't hear anything, not even yourself. I can only imagine what an event with over twice the crowd in an enclosed venue would be like.
Granted, she is a professional and can surely deal with it better than I can...but I can only imagine how difficult that would be.

She does concerts all the time. There should be no difference between that and half time.
No, I've never been on the field in front of a sold out crowd...and I'm not paid to do so.
Crash - As I said in my post... she is a professional and should be able to deal with it. However the venue she was performing for was probably more than double (or even triple) what she would normally do.
..and the venue itself is notorious for its sound system issues.
Ok, I'm done now. Whatever.
You can run and tell that.
