Re: Newly engaged

• Tell the consultant when you're getting married and your budget. That way they can tell you what to look at and what not to look at. You can avoid falling in love with a dress that you can't afford or don't have time to order! Don't overthink it. Too many locations can ultimately confuse you.
• I can't imagine what my wedding would be like if I was planning it as my 18 year old self. The man I was dating back then would have made a HORRIBLE husband (because what 18 yr old guy makes a good husband) and we'd be broke!! My advice, finish college, figure out who you are by yourself before you figure out who you are in a couple (because those are two very different things) and start a career. If this guy is "the one" then waiting won't change any of that, and if it turns out he's not "the one" then you have saved your dad $100,000.00.

• I don't think its real ... any of it. There's no way anyone whose 'daddy dearest' can spend that kind of money on a dress, with an unlimited dollar amount for the wedding, would EVER name Red Lobster as their favorite restaurant. Just sayin.

And if you are real, without being rude to you, or getting down on you, I want to add that 6 months of dating, when you are 18, is no time at all. Please spend a little more time getting to know the man you will marry. This is why the divorce rate in our country is astronomical. Give it a minute. Live with him for a while. Though I know its not traditional to live together first, we live in modern times, and you better be damn sure he's THE ONE if you'll be picking up his dirty socks off the floor and cleaning his beard stubble out of the sink for the rest of your life!

[QUOTE]I do have a budget for the dress if you read all the posts. I don't however have a budget for the entire wedding. My father is extremely well off and has told me that I don't have to worry about prices of things but he did cap me at the dress. I just noticed you were on the other board, what are you following me?

• Love that the wedding date is 3 times as long from now as the entire relationship-to-date. Cracks me up...as does the idea she would slow down because someone on a Knot board told her to....though I know no one is expecting that. Lack of limits creates interesting situations...
