  • A better question for you to ask would be what DOESN'T make me cry.

Most recently I watched "The Young Victoria" and it made me bawl at the end.
  • The Color Purple, Steel Magnolias, Marley & Me, My Sisters Keeper.

  • Schindler's List
    Lion King (don't judge!)
    The Notebook
On Golden Pond (don't judge that either!)
  • Dude, sex and the city makes me bawl.  I feel awful for carrie when he leaves her there.  I absolutely refuse to watch Marley and Me, I'm a nutcase about my dog.

ME TOO!! once albert got shot I just lost it.
  • none of you really know me because I am really just a lurker here but Nebb's 'stepmom' answer made me think of the Family Stone...watched it while my mom had cancer (she passed away about 4 months later) and cried my heart out...same with Stepmom obviously...

Steel Magnolias, Life as a House, Forest Gump (every single time)...
  • I don't cry at movies.  I have a heart of stone.

The closest movie to make me cry was Marley and Me, but it was weird.  I got choked up, but then I started laughing bc I was crying.  So I was laugh/crying at the same time.  Nick thought I was going crazy.

  • There are way too many to list. I cry at happy endings and sad endings.

The one that really gets me though is The Iron Giant.

I went to see sex and the city at the theater and my friend and I just bawled when she got left at the alter and she beat him with the flowers. This was a couple months before my own wedding so that might have contributed.
  • Yeah, I'm with Kate. One time I cried watching Rocky 2! It was so sad when Adrian was in the hospital, and Rocky was sad.

I notice that when I'm feeling vulnerable about being away from FI, pretty much anything about families or relationships that gets sad can make me cry. I even once cried watching Evita, and really, nobody should be crying over spilled dictators.

  • Any movie where any of the characters cry, yes its that easy, my favorite cry-y movies are hotel rwanda, john q, ps i love you, the seige, man on fire, constant gardiner, and most recently the princess and the frog!
  • Yea, I'm in with Kate. I cry during a lot of movies. Commercials choke me even.

  • Marley and Me
    Moulin Rouge
    Neverland

What gets me is when you know something horrible is going to happen, and you start crying before it does. Those three movies I'll start crying halfway through the movie now and if someone hasn't seen it yet are like "She said she loved him, why are you crying?"

Also when reading Little Women I started bawling my eyes out when Beth died. Dh came into the room to see what was wrong with me. I also cried at the end of one of my sci-fi books when my favorite character died.
  • Finding Neverland
I skip the end of Message in a Bottle because I can't handle him dying.

  • Most. I'm a crier (cryer? Cry-er? whatev.)

I bawl like a baby at Armageddon (not ashamed.)
Walk to Remember and any where someone dies of cancer

Yeah this could go on for a while... I still haven't seen Marley or Me or PS I love you because I know I'm going to sob my eyes out.

I lost it in becoming jane, when she is desperatly looking for him and he isnt there and then shes dancing and all of a sudden hes there dancing with her. Oh my god I teared up writing that.
  • Oh my goodness.  I saw The Family Stone in the theatre with my parents after I'd met H's terrifying mother for the first time.  I started crying halfway through and cried until the end.  It got a little sobby and embarrassing for the movie theatre.
