In Response to Re: Let's share meanie stories : Awe, thanks Nates. I try to have the same attitude in real life, I (like most) was picked on or left out a lot as a kid, and I chose to "be resilient" through that, using the same attitude, so it's easy to carry that over to TK. I can totally understand why comments would make you cry, especially all the crap with your blog, that was... intense, and very pointed. I'm generally not a sensitive person, though as my mom predicted when I was younger, I am becoming more sensitive as I age ;)

Ha, I get more sensitive as I age, I think.  I was way more resilient as a kid and didn't get upset about being excluded or picked on.  I also cry at commercials now, though, too.  And my mom predicted I'd be like this, too!
• Nates, I remember the comments about your blog- they really sucked.

Do you still have the blog by any chance?  I liked reading it because you always wore flattering clothing that fit perfectly- and I struggle with finding clothes that flatter me so I got some really good ideas from your blog.

If you do still keep it up, could you PM me the address if you don't want to put it out there again?
• Same mrs jesse, I've always been disagreeable so I "had it comin g" apparently, lame excuse if you ask me. I've pissed off a lot of people on TK though lol

<div>I feel like it's hard not to care about what people think to a certain extent.  There are somethings you just can't change, so eventually you have to accept them.  It's when the things you can't change (or at least easily) are called into question that I think it really hits home.  </div>
• Nates- I don't get why people who be mean about a blog. A ton of people blog and honestly, most are pretty ehh. I guess they way i see it is if I don't want to read someone's blog, I won't. I don't need to be mean about it.

Nah, I gave it up. But I'm always up for clothes chat :)  I was thinking about bringing it back for a while, but I got so busy, it just seemed like too much work.  Now with N back in school, I have a lot of nights alone, though, so maybe.
• It's ok Jesse! I was extra sensitive then. I was a newb and had just started planning and it was a thread about honoring a dead loved one. I was a bit sensitive about the whole missing dad thing at first.
• I have a hard time with people not liking me too. I try to tell myself it doesn't really matter in the end, but it's never a fun feeling when you feel like people dislike you.
• Nates, let me know if you do.  Also, I'll make sure I hit you up next time I go shopping.  Honestly, I don't go much anymore because I get so frustrated with nothing looking good on me.  So I stick to my plain black suits with a cami under.  It gets boring.
• Well, now the blog thing is stupid to me.  Maybe if I re-read the thread, it would hurt my feelings, I don't know. BUt I'm pretty much over that.

The troll comments stick with me, though, which suck because I loved my wedding and wanted to show a million pics and all, but I'm too much of a puss after that shiit.  I mean, that's more my issue to work on than the existence of trolls.
• There was a girl on p&e long ago who's dress pinched her arm pits and someone called her quadboob and took the pic and duplicated it and posted a thread asking how many boobs you saw (4x however many pics). That was pretty awful to see go down.
• Nates- what happened with the troll and posting your pictures?

• Thanks Jess :) At the time I was all ZOMG I have to do this and that to honor him!!11! Then after 15 months of planning I was over it and putting a little locket on my bouquet and calling it a day was good enough for me.
• I remember when serendipity (? I think), right after the "huge" debacle, had made a comment along the lines of after seeing my pics, she's surprised i'd be so insensitive about it. I honestly don't remember, but it was something insinuating that I was fat myself.  I didn't like that.  She apologized later and tried to explain herself, but it still stuck with me.

The shiit people will say on here floors me sometimes.  Especially as AEs.  I agree with Nebb that when it comes form an actual "real" person, it sucks way worse.  But AE's really hit below the belt.  I don't get how a person can find that funny or entertaining at all.

Do it! I'd love to read it :)
• Ugh I was trying on bras last weekend and totally had a quadboob going on. NOT fun to see :(
• Oh, it's okay, Edie. Like I said, it's more my issue to work through--I need to get over stuff like that instead of internalizing it.

Chirp2, definitely! I love picking out clothes for people. And my husband likes that, too :P

Hike, a coupld of times random trolls would pop in to insult me. This is way back when LTZ was still here. I'm sure they said stuff to a few people, but they always ripped apart my pics. I kept posting pics, but then some troll popped into my shower AW to insult me, then some other WR stuff I posted.  So I backed off and didn't AW my wedding because I know myself and I know I couldn't take that. I only share the pics I absolutely feel confident about on the board.
The worst things I ever saw about people were the site-that-shall-not-be-named insults. I got away with only 1 and it wasn't appearance or personality related, thankfully. I kind of hated TK during all that.
Posted by Seshat411
I am a truly bad person because when I look back on that time, all of that craziness and drama was entertaining to me.
• Gotcha nates. I was looking for an AW post after your wedding. For what it's worth, the pictures you've posted are amazing.
imageBabyFruit Ticker
• As mean as the post secret insults were I think its "cool" to talk about what an awful time it was, cause I know a shitton of people sent those in and the ones who sent and the ones who were called out probably overlaps. They lasted so long because people enjoyed the drama.
• I think the meanest thing that happened to me was when Amoro made a thread to talk about me being an asshole because I said I didn't know that I would be open to having older foster children because I wouldn't want to put Ben in a situation where he could be abused or hurt. She was a total asshole back then. I fucking hated her.

Ironic, since I remember her posting that she had no qualms about smacking someone else's kid if they misbehaved on her property. She never struck me as the mothering type.

<div>Wait, you were wrong for wanting to protect your kid?  Ridiculous. </div>
• CEW, whatt? Excuse you for being protective of your children, and thinking of them before thoughtfully taking on more.
cew, seriously?  I don't think there's anything wrong with that.  I think I might feel the same way.  Do you mind if I ask how old Ben is?
Posted by edielaura
Yep. I got a lot of flack for it, but there were also some people who felt the same way. Ben is 7 now, but he was either 4 or 5 at the time.
• Amoro was a raging cuunt back then. She's not nearly as bad as she used to be. She hated my guts too, though.
