Tuesday morning?

Re: Tuesday morning?

  • Raynes, what a CUTIE you have :)

Kate, I used self tanner awhile back and I used to hate that.  Hands are the hardest... also knees and elbows seem to soak the stuff up and always came out a tad darker than the rest of me :(

Raynes, he is adorable. I love his grumpy face.

I second the spotbot. That thing has saved us from all Whisky's barfing. I hope Emma gets better soon. It sucks seeing them sick.

    Good morning, ladies.

Pirate - our vet told us to give Nala canned pumpkin when her stomach is upset, or when she gets into the cat box and eats poop with the clumping cat litter.  I just mix 1/2 can into her food; she likes it.

    Today's my Friday - Yay!

Thanks guys!  He doesnt' have a grumpy face on now.  I'd take a picture to share, but, well, we're enjoying some skin-to-skin cuddle time, and I don't think you want to see that.  :)

He's always got his bottom lip sucked in.  Silly boy.

Hi Owen!  You're a cute little grumpy guy.

I third the SpotBot.  I use that thing all the time when our old kitty pukes on the carpet.

  • edie- I loveeee the name Elias. It's a family name for us but a couple generations back.

MORNING. I am trying to stay upbeat today. We got my car back from the shop after my accident a couple of weeks ago. We turned on the AC for the first time this weekend and the car filled with smoke. Now the insurance is trying to claim it has nothing to do with the repairs even though the auto body replaced part of the AC system! I mean I KNOW coincidences happen but COME ON. The repairs will be about $1375. My car is a 2004- I don't know that it's really worth it.

Anyways.... must stay upbeat... I don't feel like having another crappy day today.

Lbarr- I hope you start feeling better.

Good morning! I am in a weird mood and I can't quite put my finger on why. I've been reading the second book of 50 Shades of Grey and even though the writing isn't that great, I can't seem to put it down.
Crap star.  What happened in your accident? I don't remembering hearing about it.
    Posted by edielaura
It was minor- or at least I thought it was. The fact that I am in a walking boot for another few weeks and my car may need ANOTHER round of repairs is making me think it was a bit less than minor. Some jerk in traffic went from like 20-25mph to a dead stop. No slowing, no traffic around us is stopping- just an arbitrary, "I am a dipsh*t who cannot drive, so I will stop" stop. (I am not bitter or ANYTHING). Despite slamming my brakes too, I skidded in to her rear. I ended up with turf toe and a walking boot. It's super hawt.

    Morning!

I woke up thinking it was Wednesday and that we leave for FL tomorrow.  Then I saw the thread title "Tuesday morning" and was all confused.  My sense of time is all thrown off now.  We do not leave tomorrow, we leave the next day.  Which is nice because now I can procrastinate on laundry for one more day :-P

Typically insurance will use the arguement that someone was following too closely or something in that nature in these types of accidents.  People have been known to do this and purposely get rear ended so that they can collect money for 'injuries' or get a new car.

I've wondered about this honestly. I was NOT following closely- about 1 1/2- 2 car lengths away but it happened so fast that even with my foot jammed so hard on the brakes that I caused serious injury to it, I still hit her. Of course she was driving a 20 year old Infiniti and the paint nicks and SLIGHT dent she ended up with "totaled" her car. HATE HER

    Raynes - adorable picture!

Star - I'm sorry you're having to deal with all of that. I'd get a second opinion on the cost of the repair at least.

Ski - I have half that! *squee*

I'm super excited! FI's aunt/uncle that live in Florida got us our Disneyworld tickets for free! To them and to us! I am bouncing.
Bk, I always tell FI that I once we are married I want to go to a financial advisor.  My parents never really had major issues but they went to one anyway and they have been able to do things to the house, pay for part of my college, etc. that I doubt they would have been successful at if they didn't see that guy.  Here's my really stupid question:  How are they paid?  Per visit?  Per a certain percentage off of something?
    Posted by lbarr088
I don't know.  I think it's paid through the company.  But, that's one of my questions for him.  Also, I want to see if I like him before I open my financial heart to him.

Star- that really sucks. I didn't realize that they did boots for turf toe injuries, so it must be pretty serious.

I had a situation that I really questioned when I was about 16 that was somewhat similar.  It took all of the money I had saved up to move into my dorm at school and not work that semester to pay for the deductible so I ended up dropping out of College my first semester.  Luckily I wasn't injured.

oh wow- I am so sorry! We got lucky that I don't have a terribly high deductible so we've already covered that but I am pissed about these new repairs. We can cover the cost but I just feel like lately every tim we get a few steps ahead we get smacked back. :(

as for the boot- basically my ligaments over stretched and are not healing right so the bones in my toe are losing their natural alignment. I have a foam spacer and my toe taped. The boot keeps my weight from rolling onto those bones and ligaments in hopes that it will all heal aligned.

well I went to the ER initially and they said it would heal naturally so for the first 4 weeks or so, I walked on it! It hurt and even looked weird but it wasn't constant. I even wore heels TWICE (I am a MORON) and just "sucked it up." Then I had it looked at and wham.... I find out it isn't going to heal on its own....

I have it for 5 weeks total and I just started week 3

  • Ugh Star that stinks!  I went to the ER when I messed up my ankle/achilles in track.  They told me nothing was wrong and I walked on it for a month, still in pain.  Then I went to a specialist and he looked at all the images and said, "oh yeah achilles is torn a bit here and your ankle is fractured there."  WTF.  I was on crutches and in a cast for 6 weeks on top of the month I was walking in pain.  I was livid.
